We have visited a few times for drinks on the balcony. Today we had a lovely meal out with the family. They were brilliant at checking for allergens for us as daughter has a dairy allergy. The food was absolutely delicious and the portion sizes were great. The veg and fish were so fresh. The waiting staff were so helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend a visit. Also you can get a great view of the sun setting over hope cove from their balcony seating area.
We came here with our dog, and the staff were so accommodating. Booking was very easy, and they didn’t mind that we had turned up for our table early. The staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. Our food and drinks were served quickly, and the roast pork was delicious. Would absolutely visit again.
We recently had the pleasure of visiting the Hope and Anchor in Devon and I must say, it was an absolutely fantastic experience! From the warm and welcoming atmosphere to the delicious food and drinks, everything about this place is top-notch. But what really stood out to me was the Wednesday night quiz hosted by the amazing Frankie. She is an absolute gem and made the night even more enjoyable with her fun and witty personality. Her quiz was both challenging and entertaining, and she did a fantastic job of engaging everyone and keeping the energy up throughout the night. The Hope and Anchor is clearly a place where people come to have a great time, and that's exactly what I had. The staff were all friendly and attentive, the drinks were delicious, and the food was out of this world. Overall, I would highly recommend the Hope and Anchor to anyone looking for a fun and welcoming atmosphere with great food, drinks, and entertainment. Frankie and her quiz are just the cherry on top of an already fantastic experience. This place definitely deserves a five-star rating!
Wonderful, cosy room with view of Burgh Island and the sea. Spotlessly clean and tastefully furnished. Sparkling, well equipped bathroom. Great coffee and real milk in the room. Tasty dinner and great full English breakfast. Highly recommended
Was recommended by many to visit hope cove due to its natural beauty, fortunately we were also lucky to stumble on the hope and anchor inn. This pub has character, amazing food and really good selection of beers and ales, which are clearly looked after well. All the staff members were great, polite, helpful and could not do enough for us. Food was five stars, we had burgers which I would return back for again and again. The only thing that made this pub even better was their dog friendly atmosphere. Thank you again- you will see us again soon :. Walkability: Beautiful surrounding area. Food & drinks: Great for both.
DM me the restaurant was not my idea of a good dining experience Always give a chance to redeem itself second evening faultless Generally the hotel is great ,position is outstanding , the bar and restaurant staff are so friendly but ..... The kitchen needs to up its game , it can't produce the basic items toast at breakfast is indescribably poor , similarly bacon and poached eggs indifferent . The menu leads to believe that you will enjoy a culinary masterclass and the tariffs reflect this but I resorted to burger and fries for sustenance .
Took advantage of your cosy break and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Honey’s doggy box was a lovely surprise; our meals were excellent and all the crew made us feel most welcome. Thank-you!
We popped in just before 12 on Easter Sunday, half way around the Hope Cove circular walk, not expecting anywhere to sit, although it was early. We were told they weren't taking any more bookings but that we could sit at any unreserved table. We got drinks, sat down and a little passed 12 we were able to order food. It was really nice that although they were clearly full with the majority of the tables reserved, there were still some spaces left for drop-ins and on Easter Sunday, we thought we might get a drink at the bar at most and have to be on our way again. As it was, it was a nice surprise impromptu Easter Sunday lunch! The staff were very friendly, the food was nice and the prices were reasonable to. Highly recommended.
Myself and a few friends spent a lovely evening taking part in the pub quiz. Frankie did such an amazing job organising a fun night. The evening was full of laughs and good company. As locals, this event really brought everyone together. Roll on the next one. Food & drinks: We eat here often as it’s our local and the food is always good.
We have just returned from a 3 day break and had the most fabulous time. Location is spot on for walking, bedroom a perfect size with everything supplied, that you would require, complete with welcome dog goodies for Ernie! Food is amazing, staff friendly and polite, one in particular, shone out. Rhiannon our lovely breakfast hostess was simply a star. She was helpful and so courteous, nothing was too much trouble for her and she was an absolutely brilliant with a table of rather awkward guests who had her running up and down asking the chef questions. She took it all in her stride and is an absolute credit to this business. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be going back in the Autumn. Thank you all at The Hope & Anchor.
