A nice pub/restaurant with a great view. Dog and children friendly. Staff are friendly and eager to help. It has a pleasant atmosphere, but can get quite busy with tourists and families due to its remote location and non booking. Downstairs is a restaurant that serves its own menu, while upstairs has a bar and pizzeria serving a different menu. The upstairs bar/pizzeria has a terrace that has views over the bay. The bar also do guest ales for anyone wanting to try something new or local. The food was nice. I had a special - seafood bisque, which was pleasant but a little lacking for the price, while my wife had the fish goujons, which were very good. The Cove also has events on during the evenings such as live music and a comedy night.
WOW is all I can say. It doesn't look all that much from the outside, but don't be fooled, inside is clean and cosy, and these are some properly impressive burgers, great quality meat with perfectly balanced flavours and tasty sides. Also the staff are lovely and the place is dog friendly, so it ticked all our boxes!
Always an interesting night at The Cove. People with different perspectives on life gather here. Food is always of a good standard and the menu has variety. Go in the evening for one of the best sunsets on the south west coast.
Lovely little beach bar/ eaterie We ordered chicken fajitas and a burger with blue cheese with chips. Both huge portions and very tasty.
The Cove is one of two main restaurants that sits on the beach front in Hope Cove. My friend seasonally worked at The Cove during her time at university more than five years ago and to think that five years later a restaurant serves food just as good as someone can recall is deserving of applause. We stayed in Hope Cove for four days and every day be it morning or evening the restaurant was flying orders to tables or to takeaway. The fun loving atmosphere is enjoyable and makes the waiting time all the while. We ordered a lot so let me take you through the list: Pizza seven - arguably one of the best goats cheese pizzas I have tried; Calamari - lightly battered and so good we ordered it on both visits to the restaurant; Padron peppers - chargrilled and oozing with garlic flavour; Moules - cleverly served in the pot so they were steaming hot and packed with flavour; Chicken burger minus the pineapple with added bacon - meaty and cheesy offering a classic combination; and lastly Mac ‘n’ Cheese - indulgently creamy just as you would want it. Across all restaurants we visited, this is my first choice!
Nice place for a quick drink or food. There was a bit of a wait to get in and to order drinks but staff was very friendly. Great view from the top floor terrace be aware that only the bar menu is served here, the restaurant menu is only served downstairs - can recommend the pizza, Mac 'n' Cheese was okay.
Super View, Friendly staff, good selection of beers. A lovely location worth visiting. Put it on your bucket list
A beautiful place with stunning views. We loved the ambience, the taste in music and the quirkiness of decor. We were amused by the tiles in the bathroom. After much deliberation, too much choice, I ordered the fish and chips. Massive portion and the whitest, sweetest tasting fish I have ever eaten. The others in my group ordered burgers and they totally enjoyed them. Excellent value for money. We will be back.
This place was very busy mainly due to the remote location and non booking system. The staff managed customers well and we didn't have to wait long to be seated. The food is priced according to the location but similar to any other pizza restaurants. The pizzas and sides were excellent, all home made which can be seen from the restaurant. There's a good selection of drinks available and good view of the bay if you can get a seat outside. I would definitely recommend. There is limited/ no parking from what I can see but there is a large public carpark nearby so don't have to worry too much about parking.
Great atmosphere and an amazing selection of craft beers. Pizzas were not the best I’ve ever had but it was good overall and the kids loved it. The nachos were and the view from the upper deck at sunset was amazing.
