Staff were welcoming and attentive. Atmosphere was non existent. Sunday lunch was disappointing. Cauliflower soup lacked taste, bread was nothing special. Nut roast was not good. Although my wife ate all of hers I couldn't manage mine. Parsnip was barely cooked. Couldnt taste any nuts and yet it was a nut roast. Roast potatoes were soft and base of Yorkshire pudding was like cement. The whole meal reminded me of a school meal fifty years ago. We had a booking for new year and today was to check out food. As result we have cancelled our booking. Would not return here sorry to be so critical but......
Fantastic location and very friendly and helpful staff. Food is really amazing for the price and we looked forward to our meals every day we were there ! Stunning views enjoyed from the terrace. All in all - perfect !!
Tired, expensive, inedible breakfast deep fried & mouldy with unclean hairy? laundry. Management openly cutting corners with the most 'cost-effective' decisions. An establishment which has had it too good, for too long and hasn't invested back in their facilities. We are both sorry we stayed here. The reception staff gave a discount for our grievances but we'd rather we didn't have to go down that route. Sunbay has had it's day in the sun.
This hotel needs a full makeover. Very tired. Walls on top floor very thin thus noisy. Shame because the views were fabulous. Friendly staff. The food is first class. Cordon bleu. Great breakfast.
The food was very good from an interesting menu, a step or more up on what we have had from here before. The waiting staff were attentive, helpful and informative. We will come back again soon. We look forward to the expanded wine list.
Unfortunately the hotel is very dates though in a beautiful position. The hotel would really benefit from an update throughout! Mismatched old furniture and worn out decor. Breakfasts are poor and orders often arrive wrong. But having said this the staff are very attentive and friendly.
We have just returned after an excellent stay, friendly staff, brilliant location, wi-fi always available. We will return. The food was excellent. All the staff we encountered during our stay, Judy, Keith, Nuno, Patricia and Lynn could have not have been more attentive if they tried. They made our holiday a most enjoyable stay.
Not great, mains where very nice but the puddings seemed to be an after thought. The owners just seem to be eating everytime we go and not really putting the attention to detail that's so badly needed here
Stayed hear for our anniversary. The food was great and staff were very friendly and happy to help in any way. Very nice stay thank you very much
Lovely place, lovely people but too isolated. Great if you want to get away and just go for a walk and read a book. The beach is next to the hotel and dogs allowed.
