We stopped in for a pint mid coastal walk and went back later to eat. This pub is clearly community minded but visitors get a warm welcome too. Great atmosphere. Landlord keeps an ever watchful eye to ensure every customer is happy. Staff worked their socks off. Really friendly and helpful. Food is home cooking style - generous, hot and tasty. Battered fish crispy and lamb steak really tender. Beer well kept and a good selection of local ales. Prices cheaper than anywhere in the area - honest rather than jacked up for the tourist trade. Will definitely be going back. A great evening.
Just had a pint and chips here... exquisite! They should stop calling them french fries. When compared to the guys at The Dolphin, the French know nothing about potato based cuisine. The beer was an Atlantic, great pint. Nice open fire in the corner, overall a great pub
Great to visit a proper village pub with a great selection of beers. Didn't try the food although prices look good. Wish the new owners all the best!Service: 5/5
A throw back to when pubs were the most welcoming places you could go. Honest, good value food, warm service, lovely surroundings. A must visit if you're in the areaService: 5/5
We cannot comment on the rooms as we'd rented a local cottage for the week. Popped in here on our first day. Unfortunately for us there was no food available but the drinks and atmosphere were grand. Our hosts Warren and Zoe made us feel very welcome.Service: 5/5

Excellent food and wonderful service. We came for Sunday lunch whilst staying up the road at The Land near Modbury. It worked perfectly stopping here for lunch after a lovely walk down to Wonwell Beach with the dog.Service: 5/5
Came across this charming pub and decided to stay for three nights. There’s a wonderful beach and fabulous coastal walks. The pub has just been taken over by Warren and Zoey who made it home from home and made us very welcome along with the locals from the villlage. Great food and beer and always a fire lit , dogs and children welcome. Excellent 10/10 thankyou guys good luck for 2023 . Tucka X
Often go there on our way home from Bigbury, weather permitting and have a drink sitting in the garden. Beautiful place and have always given an amazing pint. Well recommended.
Lovely authentic pub with real locals. Hadn't booked but the staff squeezed us in. Small menu covered all the bases and executed well.Service: 5/5
