Four of us stayed for one night at this highly rated gastro pub. A good selection of session bitter is available so that drivers can enjoy a pint with their meal. The food is indeed superb and we all managed 3 courses served to our pace of eating. Wine was excellent as was the post dinner port. The accomodation was comfortable and clean. It was a little tired and dated but a refurb is currently ongoing. The pub has lovely views on the edge of a small village. There is a large car park and lots of beer garden seating. Would thus love to return in warmer weather.

One of the finest restaurants I've ever experienced, the Parkers Arms is a special place. Nestled deep within the Trough of Bowland, the old pub has a venerable history and was always passable. However with the advent of new owners; Ajay and his sister, it has been elevated to an excellence seldom seen in a country pub. The scenery here is gorgeous, overlooking wild countryside with the river Hodder just beyond the beer garden. The menu is small and coutured based on season and availability of produce. There is no pretentiousness here, just the absolute best that English cuisine has to offer. All ingredients are locally sourced and portions are ample. I won't give a menu rundown as it changes from time to time. But these guys can cater to almost any allergy or dietary requirement as everything is made from scratch (I'm allergic to milk & eggs). Ajay is a true gentleman and always makes his guests feel welcome. The Parkers serves local beers including Hen Harrier and Pheasant Plucker. Cards are accepted and there is ample free parking. There are really only four of them (Ajay, his chef sister and one or two staff members), so please book if you're a larger party or are going for dinner. Put simply, this a fantastic place. When you travel over the high moors and see the valley laid out like a Constable painting, you'll know you're in for a lovely evening.

Good for just a drink or even better a meal. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good menu with a great selection of starters, mains and desserts. Some good real ales. A very relaxed atmosphere.

Stopped on a drive out on a Bank Holiday without a table reservation and were kindly accommodated. The food served was excellent using fresh ingredients from local Lancashire suppliers. The atmosphere was lively but not overbearing, on a previous visit it was quieter. The owner and staff are attentive and friendly. The prices are slightly above the average, but worth paying.
