Slow service but not busy. I had Hunters Chicken from the specials board with their 'delicious home cooked chips'. We sat outside. Chips were a bit strange - very small cut mostly. There was an ENORMOUS 'glob' of BBQ sauce on top of the chicken. No one came to check if we were okay. The specials board said it came with peas & salad garnish. I got no peas. When I mentioned this when paying I was asked if I was sure it said both. After he checked tge barman suggested the wording would suggest both but it was ambiguous. Said he would raise the matter. No real apology and no reduction offered. I felt £11.95 was rather overpriced for quality of food. Not impressed. .

Have a lovely meal with visiting family last night. The service was excellent and as always with a smile. The choice of food was huge, as were the portions. I define anyone who cannot find something to eat.

Nice moorland pub. Great menu, good Sunday carvery. Real fires, interesting staff. Nice beers. Small car park gets quite full in summer and on Sundays.

We visited here one Sunday afternoon with our newborn and three yearold just for the chance to have a nice hot roast dinner. The carvery was, as always, hot, fully stocked and delicious. The staff were all friendly and welcoming and we were able to enjoy our lunch next to the windows (and the sunshine!) The setting of the pub in in the heart of St Breward next to the local post office and village hall - parking is free and easy. Worth a visit.
