I feel people are absolutely deluded on google reviews or convinced they're given false reviews and never even visited the places they're reviewing, this got a two star??? Okay... I dunno who cleans the rooms but used tea bags and all where found behind the beds! And dirty socks. The location is great yes, right beside the pier, and I think without my friends I'd have walked out or pulled my hair out one or the other we literally went away for a weekend to party so was barely in the room! (Thank god) But the neighbour beside us couldn't get in to his room (I'm assuming his friends passed out) but he was booting the door endlessly for someone to open it it woke us all up, with the force he was kicking his door.....we even thought our door was getting put through, nobody runs the hotel after a certain time so people ended up doing what they wanted to do. We laughed through the madness but the carry on is unbelievable! We even helped ourselves and went to the kitchen for some bread as nothing was open after a certain time! So it wasn't all that bad? We didn't go hungry 😂🙊that's the only positive side! Look it was a dump, but for the night that was in it.. we pulled through! Would I recommend? ... maybe take a look at a trusted site like TripAdvisor before booking!

Good hotel for this price. Perfect location to visit Brighton: walking distance to the beach, the pier, the centre and the train station. English breakfast (ham, sausage, eggs, beans, toast etc...) included and available at 8am. Friendly and helpful staff. No lift. Beautiful old little English house.

Clean & hospitable. Lovely breakfast. Shame about leisure facilities. Unutil ised. Contrary to as advertised. Lovely breakfast.

Very, very basic. Room was clean in terms of the cleaner's job, but windows very dirty and not double glazed. Very old building, hot water takes ages to come through, beds not very comfortable and very thin pillows, nice towels and soap provided. Tea and coffee in room but no sugar!

This place deserves no stars at all. However anyone gave it more than the one that's required to post is a mystery! My single room was dirty. I might have had a sea glimpse if the windows hadn't been so filthy. The bed was uncomfortable and smelly. I slept on top of the bed, lying on my coat! The shared bathroom was up a dark, grotty staircase and it was very grimy with cracked old Lino. There seemed to be no staff at night and I wonder if it could be a disaster waiting to happen. I stayed a while ago and didn't post here because I imagined it might be a project in progress. Seeing recent remarks it obviously hasn't changed. I wonder if there's some mystery floor or annexe where rooms are of higher quality because I've stayed in hostels and they've all been a million times cleaner and more comfortable than this!
