Story

Here at The Restaurant at Drakes we have dedicated ourselves to delivering the very best in quality seasonal fine dine food. Andrew Mackenzie has been our resident chef for ten years now and is still proudly producing excellent classic European dishes with a contemporary twist.
Our wine list complements Andy's great food. It includes some of the well established brands as well as a varied selection of artisan and boutique wines and champagnes from respected English and global producers. We currently have the highest scoring restaurant in Brighton from the 'Good Food Guide' 2015 which has been the case for the last five consecutive years. Drakes Hotel, of which we are part was listed in the top one hundred boutique hotels in the UK in the 'Sunday Times' 2014.

Great and warm staff, helped a lot with our luggages. Room is really spacious and love the complimentary cow milk, tea bags and hand made cookies! Hotel parking is quite convenient too.Rooms: 5/5
Right on the coast, ten minutes walk from the pier, perfect place to explore Brighton. We drove down and it was bad weather so we were grateful for the hotel parking. The room was clean and tidy, perfect for our needs. The ensuite was down a few stairs but had everything required. Breakfast was in the half basement and was worth walking down to. I will recommend this hotel to our friends if we do not have room when they visit us. The bar is open to residents 24h, perfect for a last drink before bed. A word of warning there is no lift and some people did struggle with the stairs. If you are fit and able this is the hotel to stay in if visiting Brighton.
Well situated hotel close to the Brighton pier. Superb views from the sea front rooms. Some offer a free standing bathtub. Paid parking available nearby.Rooms: 5/5

Spent a Saturday night at wonderful Drakes Hotel. We received a very warm welcome from Antony at the front desk and Kacy escorted us to our delightful, pristine, airy room.. any requests we had were dealt with efficiently and politely. They also took the time to help with things to do and places to visit whilst we were in Brighton. We would be very happy to visit Drakes again.. Thank you so much for your very professional and genuine service.. Ike & K Rooms: Great view, comfortable, clean, airy, fully stocked with all we needed and the luxury toiletries provided were particularly nice.
The mattress in our room was completely broken - springs totally gone on one side of the bed - a big sad, sorry hole. It’s not something you notice until you get into bed, so we had to change rooms late at night. The second room had a better mattress but it was still sagging and very tired. Everything else about the hotel was lovely, including the bed linen, cleanliness and service. I highly recommend the hotel team replace and retire worn mattresses.
A short walk from the station, it is east to see why this hotel is so revered. The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly throughout our stay and our room was nice, but was on the top floor with no lift. Look forward to returning again.
We had a lovely wedding night stay at Drakes last Wednesday and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The room was fabulously decorated, comfortable and complete with an amazing view of the beach and a perfectly positioned bath tub to make the most of it. Staff were incredibly helpful and the little congratulations card was a sweet way to welcome us to our room. The breakfast was lovely and our waitress was so friendly that she made our first morning together as a married couple. Thank you for a wonderful end to our special day.
Clearly, the management of this hotel feels entitled to abuse people’s email. Not a great experience. Avoid it unless you want to be flooded with email. I am not sure why they feel that I signed up for unlimited and unsolicited email. I never created an account and therefore cannot go to my account to review my “choices”.
Stayed here late May 23. Room 205, Rooms are compact, but fine, super clean and fitted out with good quality furniture. Bed was comfortable. Roll top bath is fun! Bathroom is a wet room - be careful where you put your stuff! Staff were all really helpful, chatty and animated, not the minimum effort you get in hotel chains. The only negative comment is it's on the main road along the seafront. Every night an emergency vehicle went by with blues n twos on......
