My 3rd stay recently and as always very clean and service was exceptional from the team especially Stephanie Glory and My Irish Colleen Christine.nnRooms are tired but doesn’t detract for what I need.nnThe staff are however wonderful
We recently happened to end up at this hotel because our tour coordinator cancelled our booking at a bed and breakfast last minute. We were a bit disappointed at first because our B&B was supposed to have a water view. Muthu Alexandra gave us a room in which we faced a parking lot! The hotel was fully booked but the Manager did try his best to make us happy by offering us a water facing suite that had just been freshly painted. He said that was the last room they had. We didn't end up taking up but we appreciated the gesture. Once we got over the hump of the parking lot view, the family room they gave us was quite nice. It was quite large and a large comfortable bed. They provided complementary hot chocolate, cookies and a bar of mint chocolate. The staff at the front desk were very friendly and the breakfast was abundant with a full Scottish breakfast. One morning when we couldn't make breakfast because our tour was starting very early in the morning - they made us a to-go bag with lots of goodies, fruit, chips, sandwiches, juice boxes, water. Very nice. We would definitely recommend this hotel.
The worst hotel I’ve ever set foot in!nnI checked in got to the room and checked out. What a dump! As it appears all their group of hotels are if you look at their reviews.nnOn the plus side, the staff were helpful and friendly, it’s not their fault the property is so poor and its location was good.nnThe room was in a row of properties at the back of the hotel which resembled retirement bungalows. The decor was appalling. And I have never seen so many no parking signs at a venue in my life. So many, there is no where left to park!nnPricing versus quantity is a farce. I would rather have slept in the car.
God awful place that has the audacity to call themselves a “hotel”. Please do not believe a single good photo that comes out of their website.nSimilar to many other reviews, we were arranged to live in a “family suite” that was located in what is basically the backyard of the hotel. Absurd that they never provided any details like this when advertising their hotel online huh? Also similar to other unfortunate souls that had to live in these backyard rooms, our rooms were filled with spiders, mould and unpleasant odour.nThe hotel staff were aloof and did not care at all. Service quality was bad, and while we were having dinner the staff didn’t pay any attention to our table even as we politely requested assistance. I wouldn’t blame them too much though, I wouldn’t care about my job too if I were working in such a depressing condition where no one seems to give a crap.nFriendly reminder we paid more than 300 pounds for this horrendous experience. I’ve been travelling all my life, been to more than 100 hotels and BnB places, and I’ve never been to a more overpriced, poorly conditioned, and dreadful place such as this “hotel”. Please do yourself a favour, Oban is a tourist town filled with hotels and guests houses to live in. CHOOSE ANOTHER OPTION. Also, if this represents the experience that their “internationally renowned” MGM Muthu hotel group provides, maybe you should consider blacklisting this company in the future. Really hope this convinces you and if not, just check out some of the other reviews that aren’t bot comments bought by the hotel themselves.
Booked the room last minute and was skeptical as some reviews were critical of how dated the hotel was. I was pleasantly surprised on arrival. I booked a double room and have to say it was a great size. The decor was dated but not in a bad condition really. Everything was very clean. Just expect large, dark wood furniture, heavy curtains and patterned carpets. The floors creak but other than that it was very quiet. I made use of the pool and sauna, and again these are showing signs of their age but we're a very nice addition to the stay. The service on check in was very thorough, informative, and really professional. I wish I could remember the lady's name but she was fantastic
