Very basic, the on site bar seemed too dear so we didn't go for a drink there, and the facilities were run down. It stated all linen provided which we took to mean bed sheets and towels - there were no towels provided so we had to dry ourselves with kitchen roll after a shower. It was well positioned to go and explore the local area, and walk up Gray Mares Tale or go to the Gretna shopping outlets. There is a national railway line passing right beside the campsite and the trains can be heard loudly when in the caravans.
Basic caravan but very clean could have done with some cushions in lounge area for tad more comfort. Also disappointing not to have bath/shower towels included as did the year before and had to hire them , This is the very first time we havnt had the towels supplied is this from moving from aria holiday to away holiday i ask. Been to both Relalick and Gara rock both part of the group this year and there is such a difference of accommodation and parks .Feel they could look at what the other parks in this group offer and update
My family and I have just spent a lovely week at Moffat Manor and highly recommend. This was our second stay this year and on both visits the staff have been welcoming and accommodating and provided an excellent standard of pet friendly accommodation. The location of the site is perfect for walking and accessing the local town which has some lovely little pubs and shops. On our latest visit, we received a call from the staff shortly after our departure to let us know that we had left behind both of our daughter’s coats and that they would post them back to us the same day. They did this at no cost to ourselves. The staff really do go above and beyond.
We stayed up here February half term & really enjoyed our time here, view from the caravan window was spot on looking over the Moffat hills van 13. Moffat village few moments drive away, Dumfries approx half hour & other very scenic walking routes if you do your homework. Pub & supermarket on site but didn't use them as there were other local amenities at cheaper prices but each to their own. We also chose to stay an extra night & would go back but at a warmer time of year
Great people, friendly and nothing is too much trouble . Came beginning of September, so quiet and lovely.
Stayed in a lovely caravan here for 2 nights. Beautiful place for nature lovers, so relaxing and peaceful.
We have just come back from our first family camping trip, lovely site and soo dog friendly which is amazing. The staff are so kind, accommodating and helpful! We got to chose our pitch and lucky we arrived before the weekend as we got a good pitch hilly. The bar was good, will say to have a bit of childrens entertainment in the beginning though as it was for adults mostly. Wow the showers and toilets are not nice and let this site down, we stayed 4 nights and only seen them cleaned once. They need a deep clean and to be cleaned every day not every other day! Take flip flops. That's the only downfall with our trip.
Lovely place. We were hesitant after reading reviews but it wasn't as bad as expected. Yes the toilets/showers are in need of an update and family rooms would be handy but considering they don't charge much we can't really grumble. We were a party of 13 and had three pitches. The kids and us had a lovely time despite the weather not being great. The food at Alfred's bar & bistro was lovely and a good price but the people serving could do with a lesson in customer service and learn not to have an attitude. Overall, our 6 days were very enjoyable.
Been camping many times. Love it here! The staff are friendly and accommodating. The grounds are kept trimmed and looking good. The showers are the perfect temperature and clean. There is plenty of space to wash dishes and clean the laundry as well. We have seen dozens of bunnies and can hear owls . The grounds are in a great location; close to Moffat and some shopping plus hill walking.
