This site was booked after hearing the other site had poor facilities. Short walk from the town centre makes it ideal. Toilet and shower facilities adequate but have stayed in cleaner! Biggest problem is the actual site itself and the layout. Childrens play area smack bang in the middle, if your hoping to get some peace and quiet, forget it! Children allowed to play out until midnight, screaming and shouting constantly. Why the park owners have placed the play area in this position is a huge undersignt. There is plenty of room on the site to have the play area away from the caravans and in particular the tourer area. Having to listen to kids screaming on all day absolutely spoils the experience and takes away the relaxation. Also there seems to be no one patroling the site on an evening, teenagers and kids allowed to run around the site late at night, sat outside the toilets playing music and shouting. One caravan even had its owners sat outside playing music, drunk and shouting on in the early hours. Unfortunately for us and some other couples we spoke to, the site just does not offer that relaxation that you look forward to when away from home, meaning we wont be returning unfortunately.

If your a couple like us who come away for a tranquil break, then this site is definitely NOT for you. Lots of screaming kid's and just as noisy adults from early afternoon until at least 9pm at night does not make for a peaceful retreat, the sites close location to the road hampers this even more. The layout of the site could be so much improved. The play area could be placed at one end with families placed close by, enabling a quiet section at the opposite end of the site. Instead they have placed the play area right in the centre. Toilet blocks and showers are ok ish, but like fellow caravanners we spoke to on site we thought could be better especially at this point. On a more positive note the site has a well shop with friendly staff and its Location is excellent for a 20 mins stroll into Peebles with a few good independent shops and the excellent butcher's and bakery.

Great spot for camping. I took my team to Peebles for a mountain biking weekend and we camped at Crossburn. The camping field was a bit soft due to the recent spell of torrential rain but the staff were extremely apologetic. It didn't ruin our weekend. Toilet and shower facilities we of a good standard too. The site is located about a 15-20 min walk from the centre of Peebles which makes it easy to get to pubs and restaurants whilst still remaining peaceful.
