Rang the operator to ask if I could book a taxi for my sister & her family from SOT train station to Alton Towers. Very helpful, sent link to me to pay £25 though didn’t mention they’d be a £3 service charge! & said the driver would be there in 5 minutes. I then had a call from the driver saying he was there & where were they? Said they were outside the station, asked him where he was & he laughed and said ‘outside the hotel’. Rang & told my sister who had no idea where the hotel was & thereafter followed 20 minutes of stressful calls between me & the driver, my sister & the driver and me & my sister! She ended up traipsing her family up & down the road looking for him she had said to him on one call ‘why am I searching for you, you’re supposed to come to us’..!! Rightly so! I ended up receiving a text telling me the pick up had been unsuccessful & to ring to rebook!!!! Not at all happy
Booked two taxis today one to the stoke station and the return journey later in the day. Both times taxis turned up early and were fine and happy about waiting. Lovely clean minibus on both journey very safe and conscientious drivers and cheaper for a seven passengers than quoted by Uber for 4 will definitely use again.

Easy to book over the phone - automated service. However both taxis I have pre-booked have been late, the second taxi was over 15 minutes late and I had a train to catch both taxis booked during the day when there was no traffic. When speaking to both the driver and call handler, they were very rude and when asked what happens if I miss my train because the driver is late, they simply replied “nothing”. There was never an apology and their lack of punctuality means they cannot be trusted.
Always very pleasant, and helpful they are always my first choice when booking a taxi, I've had no concerns with any of the drivers & their prices are definitely better than other taxi firms,1st time booking them back from Newcastle today, cheaper than the taxis in Castle .
Such a lovely helpful driver! He had to wait for me at the chemist for ages due to everyone being kept waiting and he was so nice about it! The car was immaculate too. This was written a while ago.but I forgot to post it!
Called to pre-book, was quoted £8.50 for a 20 minute drive - no card payments in the car, but charge an extra £1 to pay online. Got in the car and the driver asked us to pay up front, only to pull away and start driving before accepting the payment. Still held his hand out for the cash, so I handed it over only for him to drop half the money under his seat. Got to the destination ten minutes late, not even dropping us at the right location, causing us to miss a doctors appointment. Then tried to claim that the fee was £9.60, claiming we owed him an extra £1.50 he claimed we owed him more because he couldn't find the coins he dropped. Locked the car doors and refused to let us out of the car until we payed the extra. Not to mention the fact he was speeding the entire time we weren't in traffic, going 40 on a roundabout at one point. All in all, a terrible trip, would not recommend and certainly will not be using this service again.
Brilliant, fast, easy system to book a taxi. The driver was lovely and so friendly. Would definitely recommend Magnum Private Hire and will certainly be using them again.
We booked a taxi at midnight from our venue to home, which didn’t arrive. Called at 00.15 to be told it would be another 30 minutes, as we “weren’t in the area” and they were “busy” If the booking can’t be fulfilled on time, why take it? We had to wake up family to bring us home.
DO NOT USE!!!!! If I could give it 0 stars I would, booked a taxi tonight and was given the message they would be late. When calling them to chase it they said the number must have changed on the booking because they tried ringing us they hadn’t they said they would be 15 minutes. That went by we rang again and they said they wouldn’t be coming out because we were paying cash. They had left us waiting for 30 plus minutes waiting for them when they weren’t even sending out a taxi. When mentioning this they said “that’s fine go with another company” in a rude tone and put the phone down on me. The staff were so obnoxious on the phone and not at all professional. Will never use this company for the rest of my life, and I advise no one else does. How they are still in business is beyond me!
