Loved my stay at the Crewe! This place really has something special. Our room was beautiful with comfy beds and lots of space. All meals were fantastic including breakfast! Lots of lovely walks for all levels of ability in the area and electric bikes can be hired from the village shop. There's no phone reception in the village at all and WiFi is only OK. I quite liked being forced to disconnect but worth noting!

Beautifully restored historic building. Discerning bar stock with lots of choice. Excellent food. Very attentive service. Attention to detail strikes you at every level. Pricey, but you won't be disappointed.

We had Sunday lunch here and it was genuinely superb. The food is brought out on a platter to share as a table; Pork, Chicken, Beef, Roast Potatoes, Parsnips, Yorkshire puds.... need I say more! The starters, which were also shared, were delicious. It is so easy for Sunday lunch to be a very average meal at pubs and restaurants, but the Lord Crewe arms have nailed it! Definitely the best Sunday lunch I have had in the North East. The bar downstairs has such a nice ambience and vibe because of the exposing stonework and the decor. This place will definitely be my go to for visitors, cannot recommend it enough- well I can up to the point that I can't book it for Sunday lunch anymore because it is too popular. !!

Up-market and niche! Roaring fires, great drinking, excellent food and friendly staff. What more could you want in base from which you can explore the Great Northeast Wilderness? The place is a re-purposed abbottry, stone built, old and full of character. Rooms are comfortable and warm.

A really outstanding hotel. You must call here for a meal, afternoon tea, or just a coffee. Also a brilliant place for weddings and celebrations.
