We are a family friendly restaurant situated in the picturesque countryside of County Durham.
Proudly serving wholesome home-made food from classic pub favourites including our famous stotties to
sizzlers, delicious steaks and of course our Sunday Carvery.

We offer a warm welcome and fantastic views of the surrounding villages and hills. Not to mention our impressive range of
Cask Ales, Wines, Spirits and Soft Drinks.

There’s plenty of outdoor seating for the hot summer months and an outdoor play area to keep the little ones occupied.

A perfect venue catering to parties large and small. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Delicious food. Incredible vista from the picture window. We got there rather late for Sunday lunch so the restaurant was pretty empty - shame, not inn's fault of course. It must be really full at lunch time Sunday. Suspect there'd be a good atmosphere. . Anyway the staff were very friendly and helpful too. I enjoyed my time very much. Oh! Buffet so eat stacks!

The Steak and Ale Pie was lovely, The veg was that under cooked I couldn't cut through them with my knife, The chips were over cooked and kept warm. So naturally was in edible. It took 20 minutes for the waiter to attend our table to take our order. The pub was not over busy on a Thursday night. It took a further hour for our meal to actually arrive. The waitress was friendly that delivered it to our table and asked if everything was alright, to which I responded if only I could cut through the veg. She soon made a hasty exit. She came back to clear our plates away and asked if we enjoyed it. I stated clearly I was not happy. She left my plate behind and eventually the landlord came along to ask what the problem was. I told him that i would not give my dog that. He did apologise and knocked £4.85 off the bill. Would not go back there again. Appalling.

The food is always good here with traditional pub favourites on offer. A spacious pub that's a bit isolated but well worth a visit. Great views. Friendly staff too.

Lovely food but very slow service. Had to ask for order to be taken. Took nearly an hour for food to come. We had to then ask for desserts.Need more staff but it wasn't that busy.
