We’re all packed and ready to leave this wonderful campsite after a lovely week, despite the weather not always being spring-like! Our week started with very warm greetings from Angie, her first week in the job. She was really friendly and made us feel very welcome. She gave information about the site and then took us to our pitch. We had a hard standing pitch with a lovely view over the camping ground where a herd of fallow deer gather regularly during the day and night. I was also lucky enough to get some photos of red deer. There are walks/cycle paths into the forest straight from the site and you can walk to Brockenhurst in around half an hour. The toilets/showers were spotless and lovely and warm. There were three other wardens on-site during our stay…Fiona, Suzie and Ian. All were very friendly and went out of their way to make you feel like a very much valued visitor to the site. A lovely end to our week here was the wood fired pizzas from Esme’s Tearooms who visited on the Saturday evening. Delicious! All in all, highly recommend Long Meadow…you will not be disappointed!
Our camping trip here was fantastic. The staff were friendly and always available. The pitch was spacious and well laid out, perfect for our needs. Facilities were top-notch with clean, warm toilets and showers. The location was ideal for exploring the New Forest on foot. Highly recommend and we'll definitely be back!Rooms: 5/5
This was our first stay at Long Meadow and we have already booked to go back. A beautiful site with fantastic facilities which are spotlessly clean. The Rangers Ian & Susie are so friendly and helpful and cannot do enough for their guests. We thoroughly recommended this great site. Brendan & Sarah
Super campsite with very friendly and welcoming wardens. The place is super clean and has all the right amenities. There are deer in the adjacent field and they sometimes come through the campsite at night time. Located close to Brockenhurst about a 30/40 min walk through the woods. There are taxis available but they are £10-15 each way. Lots of nice walks nearby straight from the campsite too. Would highly recommend.
On arrival we were greeted by very friendly staff and by loads of wild deer. The campsite was very quiet, clean and clean facilities. Was very windy on arrival as we didn't realise that storm Nelson was on the way. The staff helped with setting up the drive away awning. There was an abundance of walks from the site and lots of attractions and pubs within a short distance. All camping had been cancelled due to a very boggy field. Food van on site which was open over Easter weekend, food was great. Only downside was no private sinks, only 3 to 4 showers available so if it had been full with the campers that would have been a struggle. Nearby activities: There is Brockenhurst town with nice pubs and some shops, Lyndhurst, Hurst Castle, Hengistbury Head, a drive away but not far, about 30 mins, Bournemouth, New Milton, Sway and endless cycling too. Many beaches within driving distance and little beach area just outside the site which is lovely for the kids to play and dogs. Walkability: Many walks from the site when not flooded by rain. Can walk into Brockenhurst and Lyndhurst quite easily from site. Food & drinks: Food van on site, lovely pizza, cheesy chips, amongst other things but didn't try those so can't comment, very friendly people and quick service. Was open over Easter weekend but would check if open when you make your booking. Noteworthy details: Lots of walking and cycling and very dog friendly area. Does get busy on the trails during busy periods, school holidays.
First time camping in the New Forest and visiting Long Meadow campsite. What a lovely warm welcome from the site wardens. We were shown to our pitch and all the amenities and info about the camp site explained clearly. Despite rain overnight, it is a really lovely site and there were even about 80 deer in the paddock, just roaming around, which made it very special. As the forest was muddy, we got a taxi into Brockenhurst but will walk through the forest next time. We have booked to go again in May and can't wait!
Lovely clean campsite, very friendly and welcoming wardens. A computer glitch had booked us the far side of an almost empty field. The warden came and offered us to move nearer the facilities which did the next day. Perfect site for walking and cycling in the forest from back gate. Rooms: 4/5
What a welcome… Owners / Managers really friendly. I was in a Tentbox as a family of 4 2 x Adults 2 x Children and my kids loved it… great setting with the local deer. Facilities was nice and clean and more than adequate for us. Great location to see the New Forest. Would highly recommend and we are definitely going back in the not to distant future!
Great location, ideally placed between Lyndhurst & Brockenhurst. 20 minute walk into Brockenhurst which has some great shops and pubs. The campsite has some excellent hard standing pitches with hook ups and a motorhome service point. Toilet block is modern and clean and warm!. The wardens on site are very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The New Forest at this time of year early spring can be quite boggy and the grass areas of the campsite are still a bit soft. Amazing views of a herd of deer in field next door.
My first visit to the New Forest and I couldn't have picked a better campsite. Ideally situated for walking and bike rides through the forest with direct access from the site. Excellent facilities and the wardens were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended, I will return
