Reading through the reviews and I come across one that is totally disrespectful towards the Wardens at Denny Wood. On the Bank Holiday Monday my family and I decided to take the children for an adventure through the forest ( A little rain never hurt anyone) When I arrived onto this site my first thought was how beautiful and peaceful I stopped at the front office where I was then greeted by the Manager Andy who had a positive approach to us he very kindly explained to us that we was allowed to walk around as we please in the forest, but if we wished to park on site then there would be a parking fee which is acceptable but further up off site we was able to park for free. We decided then to park further up and enjoy a nice walk through the forest and down to look around the campsite itself. We was told this site was a dog free site (Perfect not everyone likes dogs) as we was walking on the site we saw a dog jump out of a vehicle parked on the campsite grounds and it was running around freely the owner had no control over the animal what so ever which is a total disregard to everyone staying on site! In my opinion I would be very angry if I was staying here and saw this. As we was walking through I overheard the Manager ask these people to kindly put their dog under control and leave site grounds if they did not wish to pay the campsite fee. (Perfectly fair) The response from the other person was extremely uncalled for stating that he is entitled to park where he likes! (I would like to see him park in a NCP car park for free!) This man is a total disgrace and should learn that he can not do what he wants anywhere he wishes! To this I will say that my family and I would come here again to explore more of the forest our children enjoyed every moment it's a perfect place just to come and relax enjoy your surroundings no worries just pure bliss.

During the winter this is a car park with lots of wildlife and good walks. During the summer it's a campsite, fairly basic. No toilets or power just standpipes for water. If you're not a camper just drive through the site on the road and park in the lay-bys further up.

I too was witness to the alleged incident between Andy Chambers and this aggressive man my Motorhome is parked near to where the person had stopped I am a seasonal camper on this site and this is my second year here There is a problem with people parking on the site some times very close to our camping units which is worrying as mine alone cost in excess of £75000 and any damaged caused by these Parkers could cost a great deal of money not to mention much inconvenience hence why we worry The incident started off quite well with Andy politely telling the occupants that they needed to bring their dog back to the car as dogs especially unsupervised dogs weren’t allowed on Denny wood site and he also pointed out that there was a no parking rule for non campers This immediately seemed to infuriate the man and at this stage became very aggressive towards Andy who I must say remained calm Andy went on to explain that if the man wanted to stay he must control his dog and that he could pay a fee to stay, this largely seemed to go over the drivers head as he didn’t respond to that suggestion, he continued to rant at Andy who seemed visibly upset by this,Andy then told him if he wasn’t go to pay he should leave which seemed to make the driver even worse Much has been said about the age of the driver and I think that is relevant,at his age he should have learnt some respect for rules and those that seek to enforce them and should also learnt respect is a two way street as in give respect get respect I have to pay a great deal of money to stay at Denny wood and I can’t understand why a percentage of people feel they can stay for free because they have a right as “they live here and pay taxes” well guess what? I also live here for a few days a month and I pay taxes but still have to pay to stay But I abide by the rules (hopefully) but I am receptive to any comments made that I have broken a rule it’s much better for everyone if we stick to them Hopefully this dreadful man and passengers won’t return and we can look forward to peace and quiet
