Layla Bakery always seems to have a queue whenever I visit, which says a lot about how good their pastries are.nnThe pastries are beautifully made, crisp and flaky on the outside, soft and buttery in the centre, with layers that feel light yet rich at the same time. Everything tastes freshly baked, and the balance of texture and flavour is what keeps people coming back. Definitely worth the wait.
There are always queues on Sundays so best to arrive early but service is quick and friendly. The pastries are neatly displayed. I have been several times and tried the croissant, pain au chocolat, miso bun, pain suisse with pistachio and chocolate and white chocolate & miso cookie. The stand outs for me have been the miso bun, pain suisse crunchy bites into a soft custard core with the pistachio paste and chocolate is an experience and the white chocolate & miso cookie.
Love the vibe of this place. A must place to visit for me every time I travel is bookstores, cafes, bakeries. And this is on top of my list while I’m in London. Ordered some croissants and hot chocolate. Few seating inside but there’s seating also outside.
I usually go early when they’ve got the full range of pastries to choose from. The peach tart was amazing — pictures don’t do it justice!nnThe staff were so lovely too, especially the pastry makers in the little shop opposite the main café.
I had the pistachio chocolate croissant.nReally soft inside and flaky outside that just what perfect layer in a croissant. Many other shop's pistachio croissant is on a waterly cream inside but this one is not on waterly cream side; their pistachio inside is nutty and you can biting into each one.nIt coast £6.5 and it's normal price in London but all of their bakery size is quite big; so it worth the price!
