Came for the salt beef bagel and were not disappointed!nnThe line moved quickly, and it’s worth it just to witness the operation of this historical place!nnThe salt beef bagel is a must. The bagel is fresh, chewy, and flavourful, the salt beef pairs perfectly with the mustard and pickles. And it’s extremely affordable for what you get!nnFor anyone unsure of salt beef, I’ve had some of the best corned beef, pastrami, and Montreal smoked meat from across the land and this was some of the best cured meat I’ve eaten! You have to try!
Visited this place as a part of a food tour. The corned beef was amazing. Best bite of the day. The bagel is also good- I have others that I like better, but it was soft enough to be a sandwich bun and was a nice chewy texture. And the spicy mustard- I’d like to take that home! Perfect!!
Saw the rave about this bagel shop and decided to give it a try on our way to the flower market, and thought it was a very decent meal!nn got the chicken one this time around, and my wife actually liked it because she doesn’t like too much sauces on her bagels - it was a little dry for me, but it’s still good.nn chocolate croissant was good too, pretty big in size and is decently flavoured as wellnnWhile both of them are cold, which is the only setback, it’s very affordable and good in its own - will be back if we can!
Tried this super popular bagel shop in the middle of Brick Street that is DE vintage shopping street. Long lines on weekends and we came back on Mon night and the line is more sane. stepping into the bagel shop feels like time stood still. Old school bakery. Also, their prices felt like inflation hasn’t affected them. Their salt beef bagel is stuffed with chunks of beef, which I suspect is possibly 150-200g beef with pickle and mustard. Their smoke salmon and cream cheese bagel has a generous portion of stuffing too. Very hearty and satisfying meal especially to fuel up while vintage shopping. Their coffee and drinks are also possibly the most affordable around too. nnNote: no sitting area. Only has take aways.
Tried the salt beef bagel with gherkin and pickle. Was amazing! And good value too considering the massive slabs of beef you get in it. Think it was £13 for 2. My sister had the salmon bagel and said that was good too. The staff were pretty rude but I still give it 5 stars overall because the food was incredible.
