We chose the hotel as an overnight stay while visiting Liverpool for a concert at Anfield. The room was spacious and comfortable and we slept well. The bathroom was ready for an upgrade and the lighting needs improving as it lacked brightness.nThe breakfast was good with plenty of choice and the location was great with easy access onto Albert Dock.
Rooms are bit grubby especially the bathroom and carpets, and everything is a bit cheap. Breakfast was ok and the breakfast staff did try to accommodate my food intolerancesnBiggest problem is the noise and awful service from the reception team.nThe external air conditioning units below the room mean you can’t think straight, you need the TV up loud, you can’t sleep until the air conditioning units go off, you will probably get a headache from the awful droning noise.nOn top of that the reception staff lie and don’t care to help.nI suffer from hereditary long term health conditions which are made worse if I cannot rest well. The booking agent contacted the hotel & requested a quiet room for me and was assured this would be allocated before I arrived. My first night was fine, but the subsequent nights have been horrendous because the room I was allocated is above a restaurant with air conditioning units on the roof - they sound like a generator outside the room. After quizzing the reception staff I found out that no room had been allocated for me before arrival and no notes were on my booking requesting a quiet room - so a lie that this had been done. Despite asking for a quiet room during check in and explaining my health conditions and that a quiet room should have been allocated, the receptionist who seemed to have a nonchalant attitude gave me a room above the air conditioning units. The subsequent receptionist I spoke too did apologise but said there were no rooms available for me to move. So apparently an apology makes up for the lying, poor service and lack of care, and additional ill health, pain, lack of sleep and stress I have suffered.nI find it hard to believe how little people care or want help even when it’s their job.
The rooms are comfortable but the bathrooms need updating. The breakfast is lovely but the floor area were the drinks are self service, is quite sticky and needs cleaning properly.nnThe cost of the foyer shop is scandalous. You are paying 3-4 times the price for an item. I understand that the shop is in place for anyone who may have forgotten an item etc, however, the prices are exploiting the situation. Nearly £4 for a normal size chocolate bar is ridiculous.
As soon as I walked in the smell of the lobby was amazing, so much do I had to ask reception what it was. The hotel was a great location . Staff made us feel welcomed. I wasn’t aware you had a spa otherwise we would have used it , maybe next time . I thought the price and quality of food could be improved.
I can't praise this hotel enough just home today 29th May 2026. This is a clean, welcoming and accessible hotel right down by the Liverpool Docks. The staff are a credit to the hotel, incredibly helpful and accommodating nothing is a bother. The food is restaurant standard and is fresh and tasty. Leonardos Liverpool thank you for making my first holiday in 7 years so memorable for all the right reasons xx
