This is my first time using this gym and let me say that it is very impressive the space is so large that it feels personal. It was exceptionally clean and the users were all friendly. And they have a nice spacious sauna. Much better than many local.nBut make sure to get a tour with Veron he is cool and knows his stuff. There wasn't one question he couldn't answer and knowing that the staff care makes it that bit more special.nnThankyou Veron and Jd gyms
I’ve been going to JD Gyms Oldbury for a while and I can honestly say it ticks all the boxes. The facilities are always clean, and I absolutely love the sauna—it’s such a great way to relax after training. The staff are all friendly, the customer service is brilliant, and the manager -Adam is always helpful, making sure everything is running smoothly.nnA special shout-out to Kayleigh —her classes deserve a 10/10. She’s an amazing PT, and every class she leads is high level, challenging, and well run. If you want someone who pushes you, motivates you, and brings out your best, Kayleigh is the one.nnThis is the gym that gets you results. A clean, supportive, and friendly environment with everything you need to succeed.
JD Gyms offer good value for money. You can expect it to be super busy at peak times especially weekdays between 4pm-7pm. There is good amount of treadmill machines and different variety of workout machines. Weights area is decent with 20 benches, 5 bench press, 2 smith machines, 3 squat racks and 5 deadlift areas. Cleanliness is good but they have a leak or two in ceiling always so watch out for random buckets on gym floor. Changing rooms are spacious and offer locker spaces. Showers are cleaned regularly but at peak times they are overused and Lastly Sauna is okay, Do not expect hotel level quality but if you want some alone time in Sauna you have to go in morning time. Staff are generally friendly and helpful. Parking is decent size outside gym and its free for 3 hours. There is a wheelchair accessible entrance and an accessible lift to go upstairs. There is a vending machine to buy protein shakes, water, pre workout and protein bars etc. Overall its a nice gym, certainly an upgrade from the other budget gyms like Puregym and theGymGroup.
Received a parking fine overnight due to not being able to get out of the gym. Approached the gym management team on 3 occasions to get it cancelled; being told each time that they would email and get it cancelled and being told not to worry. Despite this, premier park sold the debt on and I started getting harassing letters from debt collection through the post with the fine increasing each time but each time I was told it would be cancelled and not to worry?nnUltimately debt collection have turned around and said it cannot be cancelled in the end and have had to end up paying a considerable amount of money out of pocket despite being told otherwise. As a dedicated customer of 3 years, extremely unhappy.
I’m genuinely shocked by the state of this JD Gym. The changing rooms are filthy, the sauna smells awful, and basic hygiene standards are clearly being ignored. Many machine handles and attachments are rusty, broken, and unsafe to use — this is a health risk, not just an inconvenience.nnTo make things worse, the gym doesn’t even have a straight bar for lat pulldowns. When I raised this with a manager, I was told they would only consider it if 30 people complained. That response says everything about how little member feedback matters here.nnThis gym takes monthly fees but fails to provide basic cleanliness, proper maintenance, or adequate equipment. Until serious improvements are made, I cannot recommend this place to anyone. Members deserve far better than this.
