Not sure what the purpose of this location is. They have nothing to sell and staff don't care to help with answering any questions.
I'll start at the end of the story, RAJ was excellent! Explaining everything we needed and ordered our list and had it scheduled for delivery in 3 days! Don't waste your time driving to the nearest full sized Ikea if you want kitchen, bath or cabinets. But be prepared that there is only a few staff and if you didn't call ahead, you will have to wait. Now the start of the story; We got in our cars and took the drive to Burlington to visit Ikea as my mom has always wanted a custom closet and she loved the look of these cabinets. She is not young, and the trip is a bit demanding, but we found what we wanted in the store and proceeded to work through the design-it-yourself computer and after a hour and a half, came out with nearly $5000 in designs and what she wanted. We had engaged the staff a couple times to clarify what we could actually purchase, and when we finally printed out our huge list, willing to pay and have it delivered 300 kms away, they told us a couple pieces weren't available and we would have to await a phone call before purchasing the item. I said, wait?! I can't buy this and you just ship it when you have the order complied? NO they don't. AAAND they wanted me to drive back again when they had it in stock to buy it. No phone call ever came and my mom was clearly upset. 2 weeks later, thankfully we took a chance and walked into Masonville Ikea and met RAJ and got what we wanted done.
Their service is absolutely terrible. I was here for over half an hour, and not a single person even came up to me or said a word to me. I don’t even understand why they’re here if they’re not even a place you can order from or pick up anything from. Waste of my time.
While we eventually got help to order added shelves to our kitchen, the store was short staff. There was no information we found anywhere, that said you have to book a meeting to order in person.
Really disappointed in the concept. No stores west of Burlington. I liked being able to walk through store, shop and buy items I see on displays. Impulse buying and of course have something to eat . don't buy furniture cabinets on line. I like to pick up items in store. Hopefully ikea will give it some thought
Nice improvement over the Masonville Mall location. More displays and larger space. Still hoping for a full store!
We came in with intent to buy - no one cared if we lived or died as the saying goes - four staff just goofed around and laughed with each other while we shopped for twenty minutes so we left.
When you file an order be sure you write the name on the order accurately to help the customer receives the order smoothly
As others have noted, IKEA's shipping policy is terrible and not having an actual IKEA store available locally means a trek to Burlington or many treks if things go wrong with the design. Anyway, we had a design made for a walk in closet but what we got wasn't to our specifications which we didn't realize until we received our order the final design blocked our attic access - our fault for not double checking, but not something that should have happened in the first place. So first trek to Burlington to return a good chunk of the order. The wardrobe recommendation PAX and design is absolutely terrible. The smaller box units are fine, the larger ones are prone to falling apart because they're a combination of particle board on the top and bottom that are supposed to be supported by thick stock cardboard for the sides. Unfortunately, they have the longevity of a two four at Western during orientation week and the stability of a freshman who drank it I have already had to return two of the larger units that fell apart - yay more trips to Burlington. At this point third of the originally planned closet is built. It looks fine, but it's far less functional than the utilitarian organizer we had in there previously. A third can not be built owing to attic access issues we even considered substitution of the tall wardrobe boxes for shorter ones but alas, the depth is too large and wouldn't be much of an improvement. A third is yet to be built, but if more issues come up during construction, it will get scrapped. I would never, ever, ever use this service again, and especially not without a local store because it's complete buyer beware. That way you can actually check out what you're ordering or buying before you make a plunge. You'll avoid the foolish shipping fees, and endless treks to Burlington as well.
