This is the Merseyrail terminus the southern most end of Northern Line. Other operators have through trains to other cities. Platforms can be accessed via ramps or a lift situated near to the ticket office. A toilet is available at the rear of the cafe at platform level.
Good train station can get busy after 4
Fairly bleak and depressing, especially at night, when you might also find the waiting shelter is locked. However, the original station building now a restaurant is quite impressive and an interesting piece of railway history. Merseyrail trains into Liverpool fairly frequent with direct services from Liverpool to Manchester Oxford Road and vice versa running every 1 or 2 hours, depending on the time of day. Small car park, bike rack and staffed ticket office.
While the Northern train stopped at Hunts Cross, the door was opening on the left while stopping at Liverpool Lime Street.
Fairly decent station considering its size, could do with the shop being open more often and more wheelchair friendly facilities, but other than that it's an OK station
I rarely get the train as I usually travel on my motorbike, but I was going the trafford centre and thought might aswell get the train. I had no idea what it was called when you want to go somewhere and back on the same ticket, the man said the price and I said "thats for a 17 year old?" And he said "whens your birthday?" I think, I said I couldn't quite hear you, and he said "Birthday? Date of birth?" I told him and he gave me my ticket, I asked him which side of the platform to go on and he said "theres signs".
It’s good you can get train
An attractive Grade II listed railway station. The Southern terminus of the Merseyrail Northern Line.
Train Station in Hunt's Cross, you can get trains to Liverpool, Widnes and Warrington from here.
