Nice small station in a nice small community. Frequent trains to Southport for connections to Wigan and Manchester Frequent trains to Liverpool Step Free access is only available by walking about 5 minutes around and over the road bridge to cross platforms. Waiting room is often closed No toilet facilities Limited shops nearby
Quiet residential seaside town. Not many public facilities but good access to sea front and canal walkways.
If you are disabled and on the Southport side needing the Liverpool train. There is no help for getting across to the other side. The only option is a footbridge which is basically no option at all without help from family. If you do make it to the Liverpool platform you can't even make it to the ticket office without a barrier of a step. One positive point is the member of staff was proactive and came onto the platform to ask if we needed a ramp onto the train.
This is a small village which has matured into a gem of a community. The roads are tree lined and properties in excellent condition. The rail service to Liverpool or Southport is a huge asset with a frequent service. Hightown has a Club with plentiful sports facilities and a nice pub with good dining. Easy access to the beach and coastal walking with a Sailing Club having its own mooring facilities. The village is a mixture of large old properties and more moderately priced modern homes many of which have been upgraded or extended.
Lovely place nice walks here
Plenty of seating on the platforms, and is in a good location for sefton costal path as well as other footpaths and beaches being a short walk away. There is step free access via road access onto the platforms, but not between the 2 platforms. Overall it's a decent quiet station
A quiet station which has an exit at both platforms, but the footbridge exit I’d say is the main, making 3 entrance/exits in total at this station. It has step free access which is good because I’d rather eat my nans ashes than use that disgusting footbridge.
Only used the station.
Great staff really helpful and smiling and brightened my day
