Great station if not for one utterly miserable member of staff who makes it everyone’s problem that he doesn’t want to be here. A real talent for making every interaction unpleasant. God forbid, you need to buy a ticket fast. Everyone else is lovely though + love seeing Nala the real station manager as seen in the picture
There have been significant improvements at this station to add step free access to the platforms. The works have added to the aesthetic of the building and been done very tastefully. There are regular services to Liverpool from this station, plenty of seating available on the platform and friendly staff working in the ticket office.
Generally a quiet station on the Northern Line on the section between Hunts Cross and Liverpool Central. The station is staffed so tickets can be obtained during the times that the station is open. A toilet is available opposite the ticket office.
Recently modernised with addition of new lifts for restricted access. It a good stop for the trendy Lark Lane and the water front.
Shambles of a train station, unable to buy your own tickets, and one staff member on a desk during rush hour is diabolical. Causing many people to be late for work and miss trains
Normally a very quiet ststion although there is only one ticket window and no ticket machine so there can be a queue out or the door just after 8am on a week day so extra time should be given for the commute.
Clean enough but the staff are dismissive, seem like they want everyone to use the machine so they can do as little as possible
A decent little station in a nice area. The station is currently going under renovations to install and add an elevator to both platforms. The station provides shelter on both platforms as well as dot matrix displays. There is a vending machine in the main station building with a manned ticket office and bathroom. The building is a grade 2 listed building so it is great for those interested in natural buildings that haven't changed.
A leafy, rustic train station that is very well maintained with above average facilities. The station has a public toilet buzz the station master for access, a modern and secure bike lock-up, wheelchair access down the access ramps and good coverage on the platforms if its raining. Never had a problem with it.
Quaint old station building with stepped ramps down to platforms, so wheelchair access possible but not easy. Bike rack but no car park, though there may be the odd space in the road leading to the station entrance. Staffed ticket office as elsewhere on the Merseyrail network. Generally quite quiet though at peak times it can be relatively busy. Set in a wide cutting that's fairly sheltered and very pleasant in summer.
