Horrible jobsworth staff who’d rather make a drunk 18 year old girl celebrating her birthday travel alone on a desperate line than with her family. Absolutely horrible men who don’t care for women and seem to prefer putting them in vulnerable positions instead of making sure they get home safe.

A good link in the rail network allowing forward travel both north and south from Liverpool, also it's in the name it's central to most of the attractions in the city.
This was a great train station to depart from, with a large area for the many services! It is easy to navigate around using the signs and the accessibility level is proper, supported by escalators. All the departures are listed on a board and there is a regularly updated one on each platform, which have consistent colour schemes with Merseyride rail. The platform I used with my friend was appropriately sized for our train, however it was unfortunately delayed.
A busy standard train station , certain members of staff can be a bit grumpy and rude but on the whole a well signposted train station. The only gripe is the lift is always out of order , please fix it .
Ladies toilet was out of order and there was a long line to use the disabled one. Otherwise we'll sign posted and clean.
Been using this station for over 40 years now. A lot of money has been spent to modernise central and it's worked! The station is bright and clean. As you walk in there's a good shop well stocked with newspapers/magazines/fresh coffee. Ticket purchase is quick and hassle free. There's loads of monitors around with up to the minute train/platform info. The toilets are well kept and free! There's loads of security/guards dotted around so it feels safe and they are very helpful. Seating is available whilst you wait. No issues here
I pass through Central Station most weeks as It has lines to Chester, the Wirral and Southport and many of the trains run at 15 minute intervals. The service is normally very good and reliable and usually on time. Unfortunately at the moment the toilets are shut and will take 14 weeks to refurbish. Don't know why it's taking so long, I've just had a complete new bathroom installed and that only took 4 days. One other problem is that most of the benches around the station are made of steel and are freezing cold to sit on in the Winter. I suppose they've done that to stop people making themselves too comfortable.
The platforms at this station tend to get very busy, and it can make it quite difficult to walk along them, particularly when people tend to crowd the bottom of the escalators, the staff don't really tend to encourage people to move out of the way. There are currently no toilet facilities at the station available due to improvement works. No alternatives have been provided, which is quite disappointing for such a central location.
