The rooms were lovely, very elegant and old fashioned, great shower, huge tub, very spacious and comfortable, unique furniture. The building was absolutely beautiful too, lovely decor and stained glass windows! I felt like I was staying in a luxury hotel in the 1910s. The food was fantastic too, we had an incredible five course meal and the food and drink at the lounge were also top notch. I would definitely love to stay again.
Our suite on the ground floor was spacious and beautifully appointed. The hidden bathroom below with double shower was splendid and the food was delicious. All of the staff were friendly and welcoming but Niven, our waiter for both our evening meal and morning breakfast, was utterly charming. Thank you Hotel du Vin, Glasgow, for a truly magnificent stay.
Stayed here for two nights. Hotel is stunning and you get an awful lot for your money. Rooms are large as is the bed. A extra large bath which was a huge bonus, especially as I'm a big girl and over 6ft. Had the vegetarian breakfast which was filling and unique. All topped off with well crafted cocktails in the bar. Lovely stay and will definitely be back.
The food was delicious and fabulous. We did not stay on property. We had an early dinner in the restaurant. Only disappointed was pre cocktail I ordered. The Vodka martini I ordered was awful. I ordered Belvedere and I received a dirty Martin, glass 1/4 full. Other than that food, service and wine were fantastic. Food & drinks: Great food and presentation. Very good service.
Stayed here using a voucher from a friend the room was lovely and spacious. Breakfast was included but was not worth the money extra. Quite a distance from the city centre so prepare yourself for a long walk or getting a taxi/train.
My wife and I recently spent the night at Hotel du Vin, Glasgow and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. From arrival to departure we were treated with exceptional service in beautiful surroundings. Our room was well presented and had all necessary accessories making it a home from home. We had cocktails in the lounge which were perfect, even though we requested drinks which were not on the cocktail menu. Where do you get your olives ? as I have never seen or tasted such quality outside of Italy ! We decided on the tasting menu as it was our first visit and it did not disappoint. Next time we'll include the recommended wines with each course. Following a great night's sleep, we headed down for breakfast, and again experienced probably the best quality product we have tasted. It is this focus on quality and detail that makes Hotel du Vin a very special place.
Had quite simply one of the best dining experiences of my life here. Enjoyed the tasting menu, all 8 'courses' and each dish was a masterpiece. Service and ambience was beyond excellent. Our waiter was first class. Lived up to and exceeded every expectation.Service: 5/5
We had a girls re- union here and none of us could fault the hotel, the rooms, the staff, and the food!!! Oksy on the bar was fantastic! So was skye on reception! We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night uni-girls reunion and will definitely be back to visit - hopefully next year! Perfect location and luxurious rooms and bar / dining experience - a real treat!!! Walkability: Perfect for exploring the west end
A wonderful place to escape to in the heart of Glasgow. Nice place. Great service. Restaurant food was excellent.Rooms: 5/5
Visited for afternoon tea had been given a clearly marked £75 voucher the value of which had been confirmed at booking Nice surroundings, very lovely server by name of Frances who was very friendly and attentive. We were VERY disappointed with the sandwiches. Bread all white and not of special quality cut into large rectangular pieces and outside pieces had been open to air leaving them hard . Fillings 1Ham over powered with mustard 2 Smoked salmon 3Cheese overpowered with chutney 4 The most awful lettuce and tasteless tomato no dressing Scones were nice, as was clotted cream Cakes and pastries dainty and tasty. No garnish salad bowl as per photos on website. At end we were told our voucher although it said £75 on card it was only worth £50.I said not acceptable and after some chatting to a manager they agreed it was £75 and bill amended . Nice surroundings , not much atmosphere as very quiet also way overpriced for quality of food we received especially the sandwiches , so unimaginative . Cost £88!
