Reviews
The Hilton Garden Inn Glasgow City Centre is in a lovely location along the River Clyde, making it a convenient base for exploring the area. As a budget-friendly Hilton brand, it does show its age, with rooms that are a bit dated and can be noisy. The rooms are also very warm, requiring you to open the window for ventilation, but given Scotland’s climate, I’d rather have it warm than cold.nnWhile the hotel is rated 4 stars, I would say it feels more like a solid 3-star property. That said, the staff are fantastic—friendly and helpful at any time of the day. I had a question at 5 a.m., and the gentleman at reception was ready to assist without hesitation.nnMy room was comfortable, though on the small side. Interestingly, I was given an accessible room, but it didn’t seem well-designed for wheelchair users, as the space was quite limited for maneuvering.nnOverall, this hotel offers a decent stay, but it’s best suited for those looking for budget-friendly accommodations with excellent staff rather than expecting the full 4-star experience
One night stay after being at the Hydro, spot on location for it but would recommend parking over at the Premier Inn as it is a LOT cheaper.nnRooms a bit dated, but clean. Our room was freezing, metal window frames form a cold bridge to the outside.nnEvery member of staff that spoke to us was super friendly, proper Weegies.
Stayed for a concert which was unfortunately cancelled. Would’ve been a great location. Uber into town instead wasn’t expensive. Room was fine, a little wear & tear but was tidy. £17 for a pint & glass of wine was a little steep though
I would check out other hotels before staying here again. The walls are paper thin so I was woken up a lot during the night by doors closing - even by someone peeing in a nearby room, which was unpleasant. The toiletries were not filled either; I had no shower gel or conditioner but I didn't realise until I was in the shower. Staff didn't seem to want to engage at all.nThe hotel, however, is very close to the Hydro so it's good for gigs. The view of the river is also very nice. If you can get a deal, it's alright for a basic bed.
I had an issue with the card reader on my door. I went to the reception to explain, receptionist behaved oddly. As a tourist, I couldn’t understand what she was saying, so I asked her to repeat it. However, she repeated it in the same or an even faster manner. How can anyone communicate like that? Thankfully, I managed to explain the situation to a cleaning staff on my floor, and she was able to help me. I was hesitant to go back to the reception because of this woman. Additionally, an alarm went off around 3 a.m., and we were taken to the garden. Then, without any explanation, they told us to go back inside. Other than that, the rooms were nice and clean.
