Where The Monkey Sleeps

About

Serious about sandwiches.. and salads, soups, stews and smoothies!

Story

The Monkey was born in 2001 and much to the disappointment of its dotting parents, it’s slept ever since.
We've been serving seriously good scran and award-winning sandwiches in it's absence.

Favourite sandwich shop in town! With a kind of underground / heavy metal style and feel, the extravagant dishes are named appropriately and the style is executed so well, not too over the top. The decor is amazing and it has little rooms where you can chow down and chew the cud in semi privacy. Even the toilet is entertaining! It is plastered with magazine cuttings and pictures, with the off bit of hilarious graffiti to boot. This place is where the cycle couriered used to hang out and you can still feel their presence, even if they're long gone from the corner of blythswood square...

Very tasty food and ok coffee. Very small seating area but charming. Could use better ventilation though. Also very limited opening hours.

Very cool little place. Got a toastie, firewalker, and 2 sodas for only about $15 USD total. The toastie was our favorite!

Excellent staff and amazing food. My only regret is I didn’t take a picture of my bagel burger. Ah well I will need to go back again and get another. Enjoy the Meat for the Beast aka the bagel burger 😀😀

Best bagels ever, go for serious operation (chicken, bacon and poached eggs).
