Hazlitt's Hotel

Story

The hotel occupies a group of historic Georgian houses in Frith Street, off Soho Square. In 1718 there were no modern conveniences, but we have updated the plumbing, installed bathrooms and replaced most of the candles with electricity.

Good points. Great location for west end, Quiet, Comfortable beds. Not so good. Expensive for the standard but that’s London! Super old fashioned but some may like that. No showers in many rooms. No breakfast facilities but they will bring a pre prepared sandwich or similar to your room. No eggs!?
Rooms beautiful, though not clean. Bed had bed bugs. Tried to take it up with staff, whom were all lovely but their best offer was another nights stay at the same price you can get online. Poor response. A shame as hostel nice and stayed before and been good but now sadly will never go back.Rooms: 1/5
My husband and I stayed at the Hazlitt's for our first trip to London. The staff was very attentive, they stowed our luggage and set out a nice tea and cookies when we first arrived. I was able to communicate with the front desk via email and someone is always available 24 hours. Breakfast is an extra charge. Safety: Very safe plenty of security and CCTV TV on the streets. CCVT throughout the hotel as well.
I have been twice now- first time we were upgraded to the Monmouth suite and it was the best hotel experience I have ever had! Second time we were in the William Duncombe room which was compact but delightful. Love the honesty bar and the staff are wonderfulRooms: 5/5
We had an amazing stay at Hazlitts. The location can’t be beat. The staff is super friendly and attentive. The rooms are clean and turned over well each day. Jasper the cat was a welcome bonus! We enjoyed pouring ourselves a gin and lounging in the classic spaces each evening. Highly recommend! Food & drinks: Your local corner pub is Dog and Duck, the food is amazing there and the little back section is cozy if you can get a spot.
Loved staying here. It really does feel like stepping back in time but with all the modern services. Agnieszka was incredibly helpful on the phone and Charles was a great welcome at FOH. Feels like being in someone’s home whilst still feeling very private. The beds are incredibly comfy too.Rooms: 5/5
Hazlitts is totally stunning. The rooms are gorgeous, the location is superb in the heart of fun Soho and the staff are very kind and efficient. A lovely afternoon tea is available each day. Many writers have usd it as a base including Anthony Bourdain and Jk Rowling. I highly recommend Hazlitts for your next visit to London.Rooms: 5/5
Hazlitt's has great charm and a fantastic location. Because it is in a bustling part of SOHO, things can get pretty noisy in the street. We requested a quiet room and got it. At no time could we hear any noise from the street. If you haven't already noticed, Hazlitt's was built in the 1700s. The furniture is charming, and the bathrooms have updated plumbing with gleaming brass and copper pipes. A number of the bathrooms do not have showers. Ours did not, but it came equipped with an extended nozzle. The tub we had was quite narrow. I was barely able to sit in it, even though I am slim-hipped. The floors everywhere we went within the hotel were wildly uneven and creaked quite a bit. Every time either one of us went to the bathroom at night, the floor creaking would wake the other. We also heard creaking from walking in the room above and the nearby stairs. Many of the carpets need to be replaced. If you are looking for a charming place in a great location, Hazlitt's is a great choice if you can overlook the rest.
A hidden peaceful gem in busy Soho. The quiet, cozy ambiance and wonderful service are what keep us coming back year after year. Perfect for those wanting tranquility while staying close to the fun energy of Soho. Highly recommended!Rooms: 5/5
Very nice to stay at Hazlitt’s for one night. The hotel feels like a time-machine while still being super comfortable and cosy! Thank you guys for the hospitality and for accommodating us. Martim & Natalia
