There’s nowhere like it in late evenings for a few drinks, beautiful dim lighting, cool background music, the general atmosphere and great friendly waiters. I like to bring new pals here, it’s always reliable to impress. You can even have food as late as 11pm. It’s never let me down as a lovely old haunt even though only a decade or so here it feels an integral part of Soho.
We went to dean street townhouse for drinks. The atmosphere is always great, the drinks were lovely. It was quite pricey, but I guess it’s to be expected in London and Soho. I also felt the staff weren’t the most friendly. Would otherwise recommend, as I’ve been there for dinner before and it was great, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming that time! Food & drinks: The drinks were very nice - I had a Paloma which was a spicy margarita. It is their signature drink, I believe.
Came here for afternoon tea. The quality and quantity of the food were excellent especially for the price in London, highly recommended. The surroundings are pretty lovely, nothing too extravagant but very reasonable for the area. Vibe was nice enough and it was just busy enough to be pleasant. The only thing that let it down was the service. It is usually the other way around but in this instance the person serving us seemed distracted or disinterested. Perhaps they were having a rough day. I am sure it was just an off day.
Had afternoon tea with my two daughters. Tea, scones and cakes were very good but the sandwiches very poor. Food took over 30 minutes to arrive, though they did offer us a few complimentary chocolates to compensate. 5 between the 3 of us! The price was probably on the cheaper side for London prices but I will not be going again.Service: 3/5
came here for their afternoon high tea. portion was huge, my partner couldn’t finish the food. lemon meringue was my partner’s favourite item on the plate i loved the space they have and i think it was a perfect for an afternoon tea
Went there for an afternoon tea with friends. The staff is very polite and nice. The afternoon tea items were not diverse enough and there were more sweet things than savoury which was a bit disappointing. The part where we were sitting was not very well lit but other than that, it was a nice experience. Very traditional looking ambience.
Came here for afternoon tea. It was so delicious and affordable. They even cater to a vegan diet if you request in advance. The service was exceptional, especially our waiter Sheddy. This is definitely our new go-to spot when in London.Service: 5/5
UPDATE: I was contacted by the manager James, who apologised and I returned for a complimentary breakfast 20/7/24. The food and service were impeccable on this occasion. Things seemed to have returned to the usual. Thanks James and team. 04/07/24. I had dinner at the townhouse last evening. Ordered a martini, rack of lamb and a glass of the house red. The martini was insufficiently dry, despite the very dry request, and the "twist" was a huge chunk of peel. Alarmingly the food arrived seconds after the martini so I was drinking the martini with food. The red arrived later, after the food had largely finished. The young waiter bristled with attitude with " do you know what you want ?" rather than "can I take you order" or "are you ready to order ?". Not a great experience overall. Quite different to when I was there a year ago.
Lovely breakfast at dean street! Natcha, Giannis and Roberta were super lovely and took great care of us! Roberta even gave me some amazing holiday advice for when I visit Albania next year - can’t wait for the next time I visit.Service: 5/5
Good food but beware that if you order non-alcoholic drinks, you will be charged an additional service charge for this on top of the price of the non-alcoholic drink. To be clear - in addition to paying the service charge for my bill, there was a specific separate service charge listed below it for having a non-alcoholic drink.
