The staff were very polite and attentive. The rooms warm, comfortable and nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. The food was good with a good menu. Also, good spa facilities.

Had afternoon tea with friends for a special celebration. Super. Beautifully presented selection of sandwiches, scones with jam and clotted cream, selection of cakes. All small so not overfaced but so very tasty. Attentive service. To be recommended.

Ate at the Brasserie, excellent! Staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming, nice menu, food came in good time and was tasty, well presented and nicely sized. The Taste of Yorkshire sharing board was delightfully varied although the piccalilli had a bit too much sauce for our tastes. Lovely soft bread accompanied. The chicken pie and fish pie were excellent with an impressive and perfectly cooked portion of tenderstem broccoli. We'll be back!

A dream of a stay. We had two nights, beautiful room with a fantastic view. We shared a 'fine dining' experience and I was not too optimistic about it, but through the incredibly attentive staff and absolutely perfect food and a very expensive wine, well ours was one of the cheaper ones, it is an experience i will never forget. I will save up and go back in a Heartbeat, and it's just so laid back. Brilliant.

The bed in my room was too short. I'm only 5ft 10 but my feet were over the edge. However friends said their beds were fine. Very close to Bolton Abbey, great staff and a fine country experience. Only negative is the price which in my opinion is very high.
