Tried to call, tried to email before arriving as they had asked for an arrival time but got no reply. The hotel from the outside looks great but it is very tired and dated inside. The room was satisfactory for one night but I wouldn't have liked to sleep on the incredibly bad mattress for any more nights. The staff were very nice, looked like there were not enough of them though as when we rang the bell on reception nobody came, i had to find someone who was on the second floor. Breakfast was cereal, tea/coffee and some warm rolls. It was okay. The location is the highlight. It's a 5 min walk to the British Museum and 5 more mins to the Palace Theater. Lots of great shops, bars, restaurants and a fantastic ice cream parlour near by. If you get this at a reduced rate then that's okay but don't pay too much.
This was a budget hotel in London so I didn’t have much in the way of expectations but, this hotel did manage to massively disappoint. Some lowlights include: Last minute breakfast cancellation - I booked the hotel over six months ago when the reviews were better. Looking over recent reviews, last minute breakfast cancellation seems to be a policy now. Black mold in the shower - bathroom clearly not professionally cleaned, maybe not even to amateur level? Thick black mold on the sealant around the bottom of the shower, on the tile grout in places and on the shower hose itself ?!. I do a lot of camping and the shower was worse than anything I’ve seen in the last five years. Some kind of infestation - I left some snacks unopened, inside a plastic bag on the floor and woke up to a hole chewed in the bag and chunk eaten out of one of the chocolate bars. Further investigation revealed droppings mouse I guess, too small for rat I suspect. All of this was on top of lots of other issues enumerated in previous negative reviews. Broken furniture, missing plug in bathroom sink, absent reception staff, furry leaking batteries in the tv remote, no shower mat, filthy carpets on the stairs, no cleaning once you are in the room, no replacement towels. I could go on but after a certain point it all becomes counterproductive listing the issues. I did bring my three biggest issues to the attention of a staff member I first encountered one on day four of our stay. He said he would pass it on to the manager? It was never clear and get back to me. He never did before we checked out. Rooms: Not clean or modern
I booked this property last October, and it had mixed reviews then, but still mostly on the positive side. When I started planning my stay in London, like ten days before, I was unpleasantly surprised by the amount of newer negative reviews. Most of them were related to the cancellation policy and I was immediately charged the full amount at the time of booking. But to my relief, the stay was very pleasant. As for the facility, my room was small but cozy, everything was very clean. The neighborhood is quiet, peaceful and safe. It is close to the metro and bus station, restaurants and shops. Breakfast is continental, coffee, juices, pastries and cereals.
Perfect location in the centre of London. Read a lot of bad reviews so as time got closer to staying here we started to become increasingly concerned. Google maps say permanently closed I can confirm it’s fully open :- room nice and clean , clean bed & sheets & clean fresh towels. Staff friendly. only reason I have given a 4* and not 5 is the water pressure was non existent for showering in the morning it was perfect the evening & when we went down for breakfast I helped myself to what I thought was some lovely fresh apple juice when Infact when I took a gulp it tasted like cider. It was Gone off apart from this we had lovely stay for location & I would stay here again.
The worst hotel experience I have ever had. We had a reservation with them, paid, confirmed twice as I did asked them if everything is ok with my booking a month's before arrival and received confirmation and on arrival we've been told that they have no room for us. The lady at the reception acted like we are causing her problems, no apologies, no nothing. Manager didn't even want to talk to us. Haven't received refund so far... Horrible... And the hotel itself looking like very old hostel...
Don't stay here. They did not answer questions when I tried to contact about cancelling reservation. Customer service absolute trash. Hotel could have cancelled my reservation easily but chose to avoid the question and not answer any communication attempts. Lost over 100eur because of this.Rooms: 1/5
Like many other reviewers, they insisted on upfront payment in Oct 2023 for an April 2024 booking with free cancellation. I canceled through booking dot com on Feb 7 and they never refunded the money. booking states they will. This happened to a number of others. they are still taking reservations, but look them up on maps and it says "Permanently closed". You've been warned.
Booked the hotel months ago for our anniversary, it's now a week till we arrive and they've cancelled our reservation, I seen previous reviews saying about it and thought that won't happen to us Rooms: 1/5
Positives: the size of the room, it wasn't too noisy from the outside considering it's central, location was good. Negatives: very run down, pretty much every piece of furniture was ripped/broken. Air con was broken. No lift and our room on the top floor I think was 8 sets of stairs. The shower was broken and ran at different temperatures. The smell from the drain in the shower was awful. You can feel every spring in the mattress. You can hear every tiny noise the neighbouring rooms made doors closing & foot steps. Overall OK for the one night we stayed but if had the option for elsewhere I wouldn't stay again...
I recently made a reservation there. I got charged twice for some reason. Yesterday once for 632,77 euro and today for 632.90 euro. I called my bank. They told me that they tried to charged me 2 more times. And that ai should put my card limit on 0 so they cant charged me anymore and cancel my card. They dont answer phone call or emails
