Cancelled a booking without any explanation for 2 weeks time, despite being paid in full for just under a year. Left me and the other half having to pay above the odds for a last minute replacement room elsewhere. Disgusting behaviour to leave such short notice, since discovered the hotel closed in August of 2023 based on other reviews, yet no decency to update until now. Will be seeking legal advice on compensation. Noteworthy details: Do not book. Ethically and morally wrong.
This has got to be the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. The room was dirty also really dark lack of lights. Went for dinner of which the menu is very limited. But they had ran out of nearly all the options and the option we took was awful. My wife was unwell at the time. Went to bed. There were a group of children running up and down the corridor all night yelling and shouting banging on doors. So no sleep. Even after asking reception to sort it out. Got up for breakfast. And again nothing left other than black pudding and scrambled eggs which were all cold. All were were told was they had ran out. Not offered any refund. They said they would need to speak to the manager on the Monday and they would contact us. Which they never done. We had to contact them over and over 4 weeks later all they want to offer us is another nights stay in there hotel. Eh no thank you. Shocking customer service. Never been treated by a hotel like this before. Do yourself a favour. There are much better hotels on the area book there instead.
Nearly drove past as it looks like 80s office blocks….. the nice cladding is inside so totally missed the building! The staff were friendly so that was a bonus and the layout inside is nice and spacious. The new decoration makes it look modern but quite a few teething issues with room. The shower door opens while you shower, is close it and it would just open again. The extractor is a little weak in the bathroom. One pillow per person, asked for more and they had pillows but no cases. So we got 1 extra pillow. Normally sleep with 4 but otherwise I found the bed comfy. The hangers are in front of the bedroom mirror so that was annoying and we needed both. There is no main light in the room it’s all side lamps again a bit annoying. The breakfast was not nice at all and I’d say I’m not exactly fussy, the kids made it soggy I think could have been the issue. No AC in rooms so it’s open windows for cooler air but it was a hot day we stayed. I was ok but the hubby was too hot. Would not stay again which is really rare for me to say!
Terrible! Scam! Don’t book! We booked through travel agency on June and the room was terribly smelly. We feedback it and the hotel agreed to refund and we found another hotel on that day. But we still did not get the total refund now. It’s been half a year and the hotel just provide all excuses to avoid giving us back the refund. Even though I exactly have the email that they agree the refund. Any way that I can seek for help or I can claim to a court?
Definitely not a great experience. I realise I wasn't paying for the most expensive hotel but damn, I expected better than this. Here are the positives: The shower was nice. Staff were friendly. The negatives: There was a draft in the room. There were 2 beds, and I didn't ask for 2 beds. The mattresses were made of plastic. The walls were paper thin, literally. I could hear the vibration on the phone of the person in the room next door. Do Not Disturb on the door means nothing to the cleaners, they decided to barge into the room anyway.
There were 2 beds in our room and both mattresses were extremely uncomfortable. The springs dug in you every time you moved. The duvets only just fit the bed with no excess over the sides. Website states that all rooms come with a hairdryer...I had to phone reception for one. The reception staff were lovely.Rooms: 1/5
Rooms could definitely been cleaner. Positively rude receptionist around billing which transpired to be an error on the hotels side of things. Evening meals were very good, hot and tasty, but breakfast didnt match this. Location and exterior of hotel not greatRooms: 1/5
Cleaning of the rooms needs drastic improvement - dusty, dirty sticky walls, worn out carpets, fittings that need removed/repaired, hairs in the bathroom & upon leaving to check out we had to step on other quests dirty bedding. Our room smelt like the previous guest had been smoking and I suspect the window latch being broken means the window can be opened wide to get a puff on the go. The heating was also broken 'on', sweltering even in winter. The whole hotel stunk of smoke and disinfectant, almost over powering covering a sewage problem, potentially. Service during the stay was fine but it wasn't a good night's sleep. I guess the price reflects what you get, but there are better budget options out there! Stayed here 7 years ago and it was so much better, never again after this last time. Location is fine, near by tube links are easy to get to and parking wasn't an issue.
Very disappointed! Didn't start off to a great start. We had booked and paid online a superior room with king-size bed but on arrival got given a room with 3 single beds and got told the hotel was fully booked we had no choice but to take it. Receptionist apologised and basically shifted the blame on to housekeeping?? We didn't expect to be moving furniture on our weekend away however we moved the 2 single beds together which later found out was not comfortable at all. We then had to "ASK" if there was anything she could do?as in a discount? as we did pay for a more expensive room! shouldn't have to ask really, should of been offered however got offered 2 free starters and a drink each pitiful, but better than nothing However we agreed as we didn't want it to ruin our weekend away! on the plus side the food was superb! Hats off to the chef! And the lovely 2 waiters/bartenders Ewan and Joe! Very nice , attentive genuinely real credit to the hotel which made our stay more enjoyable! A big heartfelt thank you to you both.. advice to other travellers please be careful when booking online!
Wouldn't stay again. The staff were lovely, the bed was comfortable and the shower was good. However, the room was cold, the toilet stopped flushing, toilet not secured to the floor, taps not secured to the sink, there was a cigarette butt on the floor, no TV remote, no hairdryer, no seat or light at the table for doing hair or makeup, not enough towels available to have a hair towel and separate hand towel and asked for a hair dryer to the room and left before it arrived as my hair dried while waiting. The hotel has the potential to be very good however I feel I would have gotten a better service at a travel lodge.
