Great hotel with great service. Nice large, comfortable rooms. Spacious bathrooms. Nice restaurant and bar. I found it odd that the room didn’t have a complimentary water waiting for us upon arrival as the other 5 hotels we stayed at all did. Food & drinks: Great restaurant and the bar is open all the time
Wedding 2024 We got married in June and had the most amazing day. The wedding coordinators Claire and William were a great support from the first time we met them at an open day right through to our big day, they always got back to any of our queries and made time to meet us to discuss any of our plans. Our wedding day itself ran perfectly and the guests commented on the food and service. Having visited a few venues we are so happy we picked Sherbrooke, it was a great location for guests traveling and so many picture opportunities throughout the grounds and around the castle itself. We can’t recommend Sherbrooke castle enough to any couples planning their wedding or anyone looking to visit in general as food & rooms are fab! Wedding planning can be stressful but having the support of a great team of wedding coordinators makes a huge difference
We had a glorious and wonderful time. Like a theme park for my soul. Your staff made my wife and I feel Like a Lord and a Lady of the castle. That is why we changed our plans after our business trip to London and came back 'home' to Sherbrooke Castle for another 4 days. The food was exquisite from a chef's perspective and the waitstaff was phenomenal also. Having stayed in 368 places in the last 20 years, your staff, food and facilities should be a text book for anyone working in the Hospitality industry. Thank You so Much! Rooms: Our suite could have held a family for sure. The rooms were wonderful. In fact all the spaces we well and beautifully kept. Nearby activities: Lot's of tours, arts, parks and things to do. Safety: A couple of Serious storms came through Snuggled by the fires and no problems... I mean you are in A Castle! Walkability: It's hard to be critical of someplace you loved. But this isn't for someone that struggles with stairs. But the town and Castle are very easy to get around in if walking isn't an issue. Food & drinks: I was raised By a Gourmet Chef... These were as good as she would have cooked. Everything was done with magnificent from the Fish O' Chips to the Beef Wellington.
My partner and I, having visited many times over the years, decided to take my dad for Father's Day lunch today. The service and food was without fault. The staff were lovely. Most of all, my dad adored his fish and chips - he said it was the best he'd ever had!Rooms: 5/5
My husband and I stayed here for two weeks during our trip home to visit family, and the hospitality we received from the staff was superb. Collette at the front desk was friendly and always met us with a smile and went out of her way to make us feel welcome. She booked us into a Garden Suite room, which was quiet, clean, and comfortable. The restaurant is open all day, so you can always get a bite to eat if you're hungry, and the food was lovely. The wait staff was attentive and friendly, especially Yann, who took extra good care of us during our stay. We saw the owner of the hotel almost every morning as well, and in my experience, you always know it's a good place when the proprietor is on the grounds, ensuring everything runs smoothly. The Sherbrooke Castle Hotel will always be my first choice when choosing a place to stay in Glasgow - 5 Stars! Rooms: The room was clean, comfortable and quiet garden suite Safety: The neighbourhood is safe and quiet. Walkability: The train station to Glasgow City Centre is a 5 minute walk down the street and very accessible. Once you're in Glasgow City Centre, it's easy to grab the train into Edinburgh too. Food & drinks: The staff made the best cappuccinos and the food was high quality and delicious.
Was here last night for my university grad ball and saw an older, bald male member of staff in a suit yell and swear angrily at a very young female member of staff who looked nothing older than 17. Quite a few of us noticed this and made us wonder if this is how they treat their younger employees? If so, outrageous and upsetting to see as she looked on the verge of tears. Aside from this we had a wonderful evening and the hotel is beautiful.
I loved the castle hotel for the quiet area, 24 hour bar, Martin the night bartender/front desk/cook was very helpful on recommendations for glasglows shops, and nice dinner meals. The room was nice and a beautiful view from the windows of the local area. Much nicer than downtown and more quaint. Rooms: Junior rooms are nice. Walkability: It's not walkable if you have mobility issues and the only things nearby are parks which are nice. Food & drinks: Dinner food is good. Breakfast if you are not used to Scottish food avoid the beef, square sausage, black pudding, and haggis. The staff did prepare a lovely breakfast, but we are not used to local cuisine.
Smaller than expected and a large hill to walk up. Was very quaint and cosy. Would be lovely in the summer to sit outside in the outdoor area. We had junior suite which was spacious. Bed and pillows were hard but ok if that's what you like. Bathroom was big with shower and bath but bring your own toiletries as they only have very small ones. Room service menu was very limited. Restaurant food was nice as were staff. Rooms serviced every day and hotel and rooms were warm. Train and bus stop very near and has a busy road outside. Rooms: The junior suite was spacious as was the bathroom. It is an old building so you expect draughts. There was heaters in the seating area of the room and in the hall where there is wardrobe space which were great.
Nice large room with a good location. However, there were 3 of us, and the sofa bed was rather uncomfortable, and we were charged an extra £55 for the use of itRooms: 3/5
Nice hotel in a quiet location and not too far from public transport into Glasgow city centre. The staff were helpful and the service was good. Plenty choice for breakfast, and the full Scottish breakfast set me up for the day. Rooms: I was in one of the cottage rooms just outside the hotel. The room was spacious and had everything that I required. The bathroom had a lovely big shower room. Noteworthy details: The hotel is up a steep hill if you are walking. There are spaces around the back of the hotel for parking, and there re charging points also
