Denmark Hill

There was a person smoking in Denmark hill station and I argue with him for more than 5 minutes nobody even looked after the station. There was only one assistant sitting at the desk at the ticket office nobody around. It is not well protected at all. This was first and last time I interrupted in someone else's job. In the evening there are staff member but in peak time at 16:25 there was none. This happened at platform 2, 16:25 at 3rd of November 2017

Very nice and tidy modern looking station with all the local amenities while you wait for the ever reliable to pull in.

Turd upgrade to a relatively pretty station, money would have been better spent on staff training and fitting mote ticket machines. Today I had to go up the road to a newsagent to top up my oyster card. I told the staff member I thought it was a poor show, he took it personally! With an it's not my fault, I just work here attitude. There aren't enough signs, choosing a platform is guess work. On another occasion, the train I got on was going to a different place than advertised, so we all had to get off. Selling the main entrance to hipster developers is the work of the devil. Looking at it, that was the only reason for the refit, to accommodate awful money making schemes at the expense of the public.

Today I bought a return ticket at this station but I asked one I can use from Loughborough Junction as it is closer from the place I work. He said, of course no problem, even when he printed it, mentioned to not to worry if on the tocket is Denmark Hill... I walked there in the afternoon and couldn't go in with my ticket.. and the staff did not believe I say the truth which made me very upset! If they are not sure in something, ask for help before give or promise wrong information!!!

Happy to have the upgraded station. When I moved back to the area in 2008 there was a campaign to keep it. It is a wonderful lifeline and it allows South Londoners with no local tube station an opportunity to move around with ease.
