Peckham Rye Station is served by Southern and Southeastern trains along with the London Overground. This station is very busy with lots of passengers interchanging to different lines / platforms. The station ticket hall area is a average size and there is only four ticket barriers to use it can get very busy with passengers trying to get out and in the station. There is no disabled access only stairs and the staircases are old and narrow and seem to be leaking with water. The station is due for a major refurbishment and it is badly needed. There are toilets inside the station on the platform and in the ticket hall there is a cash machine and photo booth.
Showing its age and not in a good way. Peckham Rye is the busiest interchange train station in the UK without step-free access or a public toilet, thankfully this should be remedied with major improvements by 2025.nnThe station sees around 5.5 million passengers per year and is served by Southern, London Overground, Southeastern and Thameslink.nnRegular services run to London Bridge, London Victoria, London Blackfriars, Beckenham Junction, East Croydon, Sevenoaks, Dartford, Clapham Junction, and Dalston Junction.nnThe station has four platforms and was opened on 1st December 1865 by the London, Chatham and Dover Railway. In popular culture you might have spotted the station in The Sweeney, Desmond’s, and Killing Eve.nnIf you found my review and photos helpful please leave a quick thumbs up Thank you!
Not a nice station: leaky and run down and no step free access, so forget using this station in a wheelchair and it's going to be complicated if you have bad legs or a pushchair. There is light at the end of the tunnel: they are now sprucing it up and putting lifts in
Good station with many links into London. I jumped on the train to Wandsworth Road after asking the barrier staff what platform to go on which he kindly assisted me with the times of the trains and direction to which platform I needed.
Four platforms, four train operators: Southern, Southeastern, ThamesLink and London overground.
