I stayed here for 4 days on a business trip. I can see that parts of the hotel have been renovated, but not everything. My room was on the 5th floor and there was a very noticeable smell in the hallway when you enter that floor. Like musty old cigarettes or something. I never figured it out but the room itself didn't smell bad. The bathroom was brand new but the rest of the room was older. It was clean and worked out fine for a few days in London at a reasonable price. The breakfast was good and at a decent price. The Regents park is very nice to walk through if you have a chance.
This is what I'd call a location hotel, and only stayed there as at Lord's. It's really old inside but the rooms are clean enough overall. More Dubious than Danubious.nnThe car parking situation is a mess. When I asked about it before they said there is ample parking. There isn't. It's a single level with around 20 actual spaces and then they double park other cars.nnThe hotel policy is that you have to leave your car key, which is nuts as sometimes just a car key won't even start the car. But they still want it off you. It would be better if they just did valet parking instead and brought in an improved customer journey.nnFood in the hotel was nice enough, the decor old and the beer £7 a pint and it's not a good pint clean your lines
Rooms are tiny, dirty and run down. Check for bed bugs. They are common in hotels now a days. The sheets had black fluff all over, makes me wonder if they were fresh. All the mirrors were dirty as well, with spray marks. You need to have a strong core to get in and out of the shower. The tub is very high, with really no handles to grab. Walls are paper thin. You can hear your neighbors' conversations perfectly. Cleaning staff are careless about the noise they make in the hallway, bottles knocking together, banging objects, and having conversations. The staff is short, unfriendly, and take their time to get to you. They put me in between two rooms that are being renovated. All I could hear was sanding or something of the sort. I didn't get much sleep. The gym is owned by someone else, making it quite awkward when they are training clients. The equipment is very run down and looks dirty. Really, stay anywhere else. Read the reviews. Look at real pictures, not the ones posted by the hotel.
Great hotel with good rooms, excellent views and the risotto in the bar restaurant is superb. I’ve booked up another 7 nights with work over the next few weeks.
The hotel and the rooms are great. It's very luxurious and the staff make sure your stay is comfortable.nnThe breakfast is good with a wide selection of cooked and continental.nnThe restaurant is good but the food is expensive. Expect 2 courses and a drink to run you over £30. Try their sandwich selection in the evening, they are amazing!nnYou're about a 5 minute walk in either direction from a Tube station but there are a lot of bus routes in the area so the hotel is still well connected.
