A nice hostel for a good and fair price. The house itself is marvelous, absolutely beautiful and in good shape despite its years. In a huge, historic lounge with a fireplace you can chill out and relax. The reception has someone there for 24 hours, which is awesome. They're all very friendly and will help you out with anything.nThe location is okay, it has two subway stations in 5 mins walking distance. You'll get into the inner city quite fast. A nearby grocery store is useful for shopping.nThe rooms were at least okay. A room with 18 beds means quite some noise, unfortunately. The beds were standard but made of very solid wood, so no squeaking at least. The rooms have no separate bathroom - Every floor seems to have its own two lavatories with toilets and showers. They were alright but you'll often meet other people.nAll in all it's a very nice hostel for a fair price deal. But better prepare yourself and take some earplugs with you.
Decent and cosy place to stay. Well run hostel. All major spots in London within easy reach.nThe hostel is attracting nice travellers from all over the world.
Perhaps best hostel in the wordlnI spent almost a week there. The cleaning is done everyday in very meticulous way. Room and bed are comfortable. The reception working 24h made me feel secure, as key system. The commune areas as kitchen, patio and big room with couches and chairs very cool and comfortable. As the building, beauty of Victorian architecture, perfect stay in London
I stayed here for a week. The check in and check out process was smooth. Kitchen is very tiny , compared to the number of guests they should have a much bigger Kitchen space. There were no cutlery, plates , coffee mugs. Both fridge were fully stuffed. Again going back to my previous point. If you are providing accommodation for over 50 people and some were really large student groups, then the owners have responsibility of provisioning space for larger Kitchen. Shower cubicle in female only bathroom had water flowing from one cubicle to adjacent ones. The bins were not emptied regularly. In short, I would say they just let the place function itself with no administration. Coming to breakfast for 7.50, there was no hot breakfast. Definitely no value for money. I will not go there another time.
My sister and I went to see Bruce Springsteen recently and decided to get a hostel as we were in London for one night, the accommodation was within walking distance of the tube and the rooms were clean with a classic look and feel while the bathroom and shower facilities where quite modern.nnVery good experience would highly recommend
