The hotel is good but doesn't have access to the actual ballroom as you have to get down 7 steps so if you are totally dependent on a wheelchair then you can't access the ballroom which is on the basement floor. There is only one disabled toilet which is on the ground floor. The evening meals weren't nice, you are served the starter and dessert but you have to get your main course as it is carvery style but if you are getting a meal for a partner then you are told that it's one plate. The soup was cold on the first night then watered down for the second night, the meat was dry and you need a chain saw to cut through the veg. If you wanted to go down to the bar for a coffee then you have to wait until 11 o'clock before the bar opens or you had to stay in your room. The breakfasts however were really nice and the bar meals as well so they must have been made by a different chef.

Hotel great and the bands were fantastic. Hotel old but well furnished and very comfortable. Food and rooms also very good . Staff very courteous. And helpful. The hotel is remarkable, in a stunning setting, very imposing and of another era. It is huge and must cost a fortune to maintain, and it shows. Loved the whole experience . Would definitely recommend this trip.

Excellent value and fantastically close to the national park with all its great walking. It's a grand building and the staff are faultless. Truly a hidden gem.

My stay of two nights were superb. Friendly staff. Room extra neat and clean Meals were good. I recommend any age to stay. Friendly peacocks outside front door too.

Lovely hotel in Grange-over-sands. Rooms are of a good standard, most rooms have been updated over the last few years. Food is always great, and the breakfasts are particularly good, with excellent views overlooking Morecambe bay from the dining room. Ideal for a weekend get-away as it's situated close to the heart of the Lake District.
