Staff were awful..absolutely horrified. Stroppy girl serving. Didn't want to take our order. Eventually she came after me asking manager to send some one over. No smile. No thank you. Rude..spoke to the manager. He started laughing at us said i dont know where you are coming from. Cancelled food and left. Just not the standard whitbred usually provide. Massive shame.

Having not been in a while and receiving a voucher we decided to give the Wakefield's new menu a try. I tried the "indulgent" (their words not mine) new buttermilk chicken burger and treacle tart and my opinion is a resounding "meh". It's a shame the food is so bland because the staff are anything but, super friendly and really helpful. Unfortunately the bill came and we suddenly remembered why we don't go anymore; they charge a lot for bland food.

Even though we were very muddy from walking the canal the staff were very welcoming. Food was very tasty and a lovely bottle of bubbly at a very reasonable price.

THIS PLACE...is THE worst restaurant in the whole of Kendal...tables dirty...used plasters and tissues on the carpet...over 1 hour waiting to be served a starter course and main meal course.. and when main meals arrived..the dumplings were thin and hard.. and the meat in the stew/stroganof was VERY chewy and full of gristle.. When supervisor was told.. she said they couldn't see what the contents of the stew would be like..but when I asked if I had been given a biscuit instead of a dumpling..she became very abusive and told me if I didn't like it..i should go elsewhere.. I WILL. No wonder the Premier Inn have stopped using mystery diners.. they must have been sick oh hearing how bad their meals were. There are 2 other very good restaurants within 50yds of theirs. Well use these in future. .. THE WORST EXPERIENCE WE HAVE EVER HAD IN 8YEARS OF TAKING BREAKS IN CUMBRIA......DO NOT EAT HERE....
