Great beer, superb menu and quality food, friendly helpful staff. Best food in the lake District. Very highly recommended to all.

The food and service were ideal. The size of the portions, the quality of the food and the helpfulness of the barmaid were exactly as you'd want. I've never seen such huge onion rings! Oh, and the beer was very good too. All in all, a happy find as we tried to escape the madness of Bowness and Windermere.

Excellent and friendly, this 2 bar pub is popular with locals, walkers and visitors. Good range of Thwaites beers and at least one real cider. The food is also recommended and good value. A pool table is in a separate area adjoining the back bar.

Stepped back in time to when every pub had burgundy table mats and cutlery wrapped in burgundy napkins. Super friendly barmaid who was great with my kids. Cheap and cheerful especially in the rain.
