Very cosy with food that is simply exceptional, perfectly cooked, we were very surprised as was driving to the Lake District from Glasgow for the night. Highly recommended their local 'Lake lager'. Pricing is high but the ingredients used is well worth it

What a wonderful experience! Friendly staff, good food and reasonable prices. The menu is not long but everything we had was well cooked and well presented. Our mains were good but the apple crumble cheesecake (pictured) was pretty much perfect. I don't normally take pictures of food but on this occasion I couldn't stop myself. And then when the bill came it was such a pleasant surprise - we have been in Bowness for four nights and this was by far the best quality/price combination of our stay. Well done!

An normal restaurant with a great chef. The decor/atmosphere/service was all a bit strange but the food was undeniably great. The set menu was tasty and good value. The burger was monumental. The mushroom risotto was a bit too cheesy. Overall a good spot to eat.

Unfortunately I ordered two dishes that both came out lukewarm and I prefer my food hot but didn't want to send them back to be put under microwave so I took a point off for that. Also didn't care for the duck special but everything else was wonderful. We got the best table upstairs booth and for our anniversary they had decorated with sparkling hearts and diamonds. Add to that the mini dessert well wishes in the picture and we were quite impressed. Hubby had lamb chump which we never heard of but it was the most tender lamb we ever had. The creamy potatoes were hot and yummy. Staff was lovely. A really nice restaurant for a fine dining experience. Try to get table upstairs as the chairs downstairs looked quite uncomfy.

For start off this is not fine dining as staff were wearing jeans, no table clothes and paper knapkins. Ordered a bottle of wine but no offer of water at the table, The food was rushed as no sooner had we had starters that the main course came out also if you advertise fine dining don’t serve oven chips, food is average for the price
