Overall, a good stay for 2 nights on my added stopover in London. I booked one of the pod rooms and I’m happy I did. It provided some additional privacy. Like some other reviewers had mentioned, the ventilation could be improved. The rooms and washrooms were clean and easy to access. The breakfast I found to be a bit of a let down. Two types of yogurt, cereal, coffee, a flapjack machine, ham, bread, jam, and cheap vegetables. The facility did have laundry available for an additional price which was a nice plus. Front reception had some additional traveler items as well such as hygiene products for a reasonable price. The area seemed very safe and I felt safe within the hostel. It was nice having the tube & train stations 5 minutes away with lots of fast-food and local restaurants available nearby. Staff were great and friendly. Safety: Safe area with lots of safety measures.
I was welcomed by a friendly front office staff, even when arriving a bit behind schedule, she was of great help to my check-in after a stressful trip. The rooms are neat, the bed is properly laid even as it is a bunked bed, the location is explicit for business and tourism explorer as it is located to all available transports link train, coach, taxi. Most importantly, the room rate was unbelievable but I guess I was lucky to have got it. Rooms: Bunked bed Nearby activities: Transport links Foods Pub Night out Walkability: 3 mins walk to King cross train, bus and taxi station. Food & drinks: Close accessibility to foods, restaurants and pubs.
The location is not far from Kingcross/Pancras approx. 5-10minutes walking. They allow us to storage our suitcase before/after. Good for stay a night but not longer period time the room is bit smaller, the door is so close to the bunk, the locker is small. A bit dusty next to the locker, found 2 big spiders in the room. But overal, great location!
When I stayed in an 18-person mixed room, my passport and credit card were stolen. Apparently, thieves can sneak into this hostel. Valuables should be locked in a locker or hidden inside your clothes, especially while you're sleeping. You should never sleep with your baby left unprotected by your pillow. Furthermore, I am satisfied with the service provided by the staff. You can also make lots of fun friends. Safety: There is a possibility of a thief!
My stay here couldn't have been better!! I found everything was super clean and you definitely have everything you need to make yourself comfortable during your stay at the hostel. Not only this, but also the location of it is very, very good. Safe area, with lots of different places to go grab something to eat; as well as a very handy supermarket right next to it; and the best of it: King's Cross Station around just 6 minutes by walking. Nevertheless, and without any doubt, the best thing for me were the amaxing people working there! Super kind and willing to help you 24/7, and they also organised some very cool activities for people staying at the hostel. I was lucky enough to join Adam's biking tour around London; which was SO FUN; it was the definitely the highlight of my short visit to London. He is such a kind soul and was so prepared for everything during the whole trip! He was really caring about each of us and he is an excellent worker and person! I also got to see the Changing of the Guard for the first time; thanks to Sam, another incredible person from Clink 261! He really knew how to make us all feel comfortable and it was very refreshing to have him there with us! All in all, my stay in Clink 261 was 5/5; and I am a 100% sure I will be coming back for my next trip to London:
Originally booked for 5 nights in a 6 bed bunk room but upgraded to the pod room for 25 pounds more as I figured some privacy might be nice. Complete waste of my time and money, I left after one night. There is no ventilation in the rooms. it’s cooled by one fan in the corner of the room but the pods themselves are extremely hot. I woke up in a pool of my own sweat multiple times over the night. There are many bad reviews left saying the same thing yet nothing has been done about it? I was also given a top bunk which is fine but the locker size comparison between what the top and bottom bunk get is absolutely ridiculous. my bag couldn’t fit in my allocated locker and the locker for the bottom bunk wasn’t being used so i put my bag in there. After a day out i come back to reset and go to get my bag only to realise it’s gone?! All of my belongings were in my bag and it caused me a lot of stress when it wasn’t there. I asked reception and they gave me a silly response with oh it’s here, you put it in the wrong spot. I understand i used the wrong locker but that is no indication to take my bag! Absolutely ridiculous. I felt extremely uncomfortable and decided to leave. When telling reception i’m checking out 4 days early they ask “is there any particular reason why?” to which i respond “I don’t feel comfortable here”. All i get back is “Sorry about that”. There was no incentive to make my stay better or even give me some of my money back ?! The only good thing about this hostel was the location but there are definitely better hostels with equally as good location so don’t even bother looking into this place, especially in summer… it’s far too hot.
Very small room with 10 people. But everyone was respectful. Service at the front is good. They are friendly and helpful. Location is very close to the tube station. Very central close to everything. Although their exact location, at the front street has so much creepy homeless people. Wifi is fast. Walkability: 5 mins walk to King’s Cross station
The front desk staff was very warm and welcoming. Having a private room was wonderful. Being on the 3rd floor during a heat wave was tough. The room has 2 sets of bunk beds beding was provided, but you will need to make your own bed , a small sink, and two fans. The window cracked a small amount, allowing only a tiny amount of fresh air. I cracked the door when in the room to get the flow of air going. The bathroom was clean. With 2 shower pods in the bathroom on the 2nd floor. I forgot flip flops but purchased some at the front desk for showering. The breakfast had many different options. At the end of the meal, you will need to clean up and wash your dishes. Overall, this place was quiet and clean. Walkability: You can easily walk to Kings Cross Station to catch the Underground.
I arrived 9.30pm ish and that was ok, I chatted to the girl already in the room. I didn't get to meet the other 2 girls before I went to sleep. I had to get up really early but I was able to do it quietly and not bother anyone. The kitchen downstairs smelled of food so I didn't stay there and there wasn't like a social circle to join. I did buy last minute toothpaste there which was handy. Staff were nice and there 24h.
I already went to this hostel a few years ago. I came back because it is really close to King's Cross and St Pancras. This time, I booked a private room which was better than the shared room which was too small. Now, the hostel organises different activities such as cooking, painting, games... A nice way to get to know the other travellers while having fun. The breakfast is still good. I would like to thank Kana and Adam for their kindness. The two of them were the best! I can't wait to come back next time I visit London.
