Just seen the magnificent Grateful Dudes but the sound guy would not be moved on the volume. Far too loud and unnecessarily so. Ears ringing despite wearing earplugs.. Less is more. Be subtle.. Stop making everyone have long term hearing issues.
For the price and location, this is a great option. Stayed in a private room with attached bathroom for several nights and couldn’t ask for a better place in London for the budget traveler. Everything you need for a long weekend, even laundry service in the building although it’s a bit complicated. A young crowd, a bar/restaurant inside, and a helpful front desk. Right next to the Great Portland Street Tube station and not too far from the Regent’s Park station and the actual park. Plus Marylebone is a lovely neighborhood with every amenity you need. Would stay here again. Hard to beat!
As a scholar from Nepal, to stay in the International Students House, London was a dream come true! It's the best student house in London, hands down. From the friendly atmosphere to the top-notch facilities, everything was perfect. It became my home away from home, and I made lifelong friends there.
Good budget accommodations for a short term stay. Overall this was a good room! Do be aware there is not AC, but this is true for most London stays. Felt safe as a single female traveler, and it was a neat experiance to stay in a dorm room while on vacation. However, the shower in my room did stop working while I was there. And while some members of the staff were excellent, the lady who checked me in was awful. Spoke very very softy and quickly and would not repeat or speak up upon request. Heads up the the interior can be a bit confusing to navigate and that you may run into fire drills on mondays.
Would not recommend any student to stay here. There is no air conditioning, cramped rooms, frequent Internet outages, broken elevators and other construction, everything can be heard through the walls. The 229 venue below hosts music concerts three times a week that students in accommodation can hear, very disrespectful considering the expensive price. Ish staff frequently request access for maintenance without informing prior, and the laundry machines are often broken. Students should consider all other places before ISH.
I stayed here for a semester in 2004. So these photos were taken with a disposable camera. I had a great time at ISH it was a great location, was clean and a nice place to stay.
This facility is exactly as advertised. Clean and impeccably neat. Staff were as helpful on phone as in person. It was a very busy time for me but I had a good night rest.
Had a pretty good stay here! The people were very friendly and helpful with any questions I had. It is usually long term student housing, so you’ll either be in a double or single room. All bathrooms are private and there are private showers too. There is also laundry and you can buy individual pods at the front desk. My only complaint would be that the bed was kinda uncomfortable. I could feel the springs in my back. Otherwise a great stay!
Reasonable for the price but there are a lot of flaws. The rooms are fine but no AC and the showers are considerably small and poorly designed. Be warned, water will get everywhere. The key cards don’t work to get into the building. Otherwise for 100 pounds a night it wasn’t bad considering there were no other options. For the most part, this should be a last resort for your accommodations. Also not sure why breakfast is advertised as free when it is not.
Very friendly and a proper power shower, which was much appreciated.
