Outstanding, don’t let the name fool you, this is the best Italian food I have had outside Italy. The restaurant is well presented, comfortable, a relaxed ambiance giving it a with a touch of class. The staff are attentive but not over bearing and the service is excellent. We had the Mediterranean platter to start with followed by carbonara and spicy Italian sausage pasta, it was all superb. Highly recommended and reasonably priced.
We chose to eat at Cafe Italia on our first night in the Lake District. They don't seem to take bookings so we were fortunate to arrive before the dinner rush hour. I ordered the king prawn linguine with the spicy tomato sauce can be non-spicy too. To my surprise, it did pack a punch! The linguine was cooked well. Initially when my dish arrived, it didn't look spicy. Before I had tucked into it, the waitress realised it was the wrong sauce and took it away to correct. Such service! To be honest, I think I would have preferred the non-spicy. Big plump prawns. Nevertheless, it was a delicious meal and the prices are around £15 for a main. Outdoor seating has over head heaters too. Very centrally located.
Nice food, good drinks. Bit pricey but par for the area. I appreciated both the starter and main course coming with some salad, so that was a bonus. Nb the middle course was lasagne in case you can't tell from the fancy presentation! I didn't like the chairs though. Rather a squeeze for someone like me who does not have a small butt. They need to get more variety with their chairs to fit people of all sizes.
Cafe italia never disappoints! Balcony seats are always my favorite, staff is professional and courteous, always welcoming and everyone greets you starting from the entrance till you leave. Food is delicious, can’t think of any negatives. Can’t wait to go back again
Nice restaurant. Service was very good and the staff very knowledgeable. Its a busy restaurant so be prepared to wait for a shot while to be seated. Nice wine selection and good food range. Meals a served very professionally. Will come back again.
What an amazing place! Pictures from both visits. Went before Covid and so happy it survived. Can be difficult to park close but it's not too far to walk from Booths, Lakeland or if you walk up from the marina you'll work up an appetite. If you get an option, sit on the upstairs outside terrace by the railings. Great food, great atmosphere and attentive staff. A must Lakes visit.
Really good food, great service. Very clean. Very nice atmosphere. Hope to visit again soon. Dziękujemy!
Lovely place, with quick service and delicious food! The antipasti platter was heaven. We felt welcome as walkers, but it's also a place if you are looking for a romantic meal out.
Very friendly and competent staff who were at our beck and call at all times without being too much on our backs. Very good service indeed! The food was also nice, although I wouldn't exactly call it very authentically Italian. It was decent enough though, I just wouldn't recommend the Pacific Lover Pizze, even if you do like fish. The Calzone was nice though, but we felt the Mediterranean Platter as a starter was not that great value for money, but that's just our personal opinion. Try the pasta or salads and share a magharita pizza with it, we feel like that is the best option in terms of taste to cost ratio. We had a very lovely espresso after our meal, but didn't have a dessert.
Amazing interiors Busy but food was served promptly. We ordered two pizzas: veggie and pesto can't remember names Veggie one was amazing, but pesto felt a bit undercooked. Had one of the best tiramisu
