We visited Homeground in Windermere after being recommended it and honestly, it lived up to everything we’d heard. Me and my friends travelled up from Norfolk and it ended up being one of the best brunches we’ve had anywhere in the UK.nThe sourdough locally sourced from Lovingly Artisan was unreal — you can really taste the quality. I had the ricotta waffles with brûléed banana and the sauces worked so well together without being overly sweet. We also tried the Eggs Benedict and Eggs Royale, and they were on another level. Proper thick bacon chop and a whole house-smoked salmon fillet, not the usual thin slices.nThe food was worth the wait and the staff were genuinely lovely and welcoming, which just made the whole experience even better. If you’re in Windermere, this place is 100% worth a visit.
We came here twice, and both visits were amazing during our weekend away!nnThe staff were always friendly and positive, and even came out to offer umbrellas while we had to wait outside for a table. The wait can be long if you get there too late in the morning, but well worth it for the food and service!nnThey had some good vegan options that were made well! You could tell they took time to create the vegan options and didn’t just slap some tofu down on a plate for us.nnWould recommend to anyone, and will definitely be back the next time we’re around for a visit!
I had one of the best cakes at this café. The brunch was amazing too — especially the avocado and eggs. The staff are lovely, and the place has such a warm and welcoming vibe. Just keep in mind that many people love this spot, so there’s usually a queue of at least 15 minutes, especially on weekends!
I visited for some coffee and cake. Ended up getting a Biscoff tiffin and passionfruit LemonAid. Tiffin was lovely, not too sweet and was the first time trying LemonAid. Gave a bit of a kombucha vibe but lovely nonetheless.nnPartner opted for a coke and some form of brownie. The brownie was delicious, super soft and again not terribly sweet.nnService was great, staff were friendly and prices were I think a little above average for the Lakes. I try not to use 5 stars a lot to really save them for absolute perfection but this place comes very close.
Such a popular place with its innovative menu I was fortunate enough to grab a table straight away in the afternoon lull. The staff are great, the service is prompt and the food is excellent. Do try the Redwood batch coffee or even a beer from the unbeatable Lakes Brew.
