What an interesting place! Free to enter. Museum exhibits to see and fully reconstructed life size Roman buildings to explore. I enjoyed being able to read all of the information around the site about the history. I love that the community is so proud of its history and cared enough to preserve an archaeological site of such importance for the public to see. The lovely ladies working there were very helpful and friendly.
Just Wow ! Mind blown, so much better then any other roman site visited and it was FREE! Make sure you visit and Donate what they have done here us incredible.
On 16th March there was no wait at all because it is shut throughout winter and opens last day of March.nnIt's a cool place and I'll return when it's warmer.nnFree entry, donations welcome. I'll donate to this worthwhile cause.
I usually don't like rebuilt historic buildings, but this really is an exception! Several buildings have been rebuilt on the original foundations that brilliantly show you how they looked and how people would have lived. The info boards also tell you about how the site was found and uncovered. All for free unless you would like to make a small donation. Also, dogs are welcome except for the museum.
What a surprise this place turned out to be. Fantastic information some in need of replacement however but overall a great experience. Parking just outside the West Gate. Museums and shop are small but very good. Shop is cash only Wheelchair access to parts. Toilet on site.
