Visited with two young children and had a lovely 2-3 hours here, including a bite to eat in the quaint little cafe. The staff were all really friendly. The museum had a few different little things aimed at kids, and you certainly can't complain at the free price! The car park is well laid out and easy to maneuver. Minor gripe, children couldn't reach the soap dispenser on their own, so no good for parents of the opposite sex! Generally a good way to spend a couple of hours- it is pretty small. Train enthusiasts will love it!

A great small museum with lots of real full size historic trains. My 6 year old daughter loved it. We went for the Xmas train ride to meet Santa. We weren't expecting much as it was so much cheaper than other similar trips. How surprised we were when it turned out to be such a magical day. The atmosphere was lovely and the entertainment of musician's, story tellers and Santa on the short train ride was perfect.

Took our grandchildren on the heritage ride today, they loved it. The staff and drivers (all volunteers) were lovely and took time to make sure you enjoyed your time on board. Our two and four year olds certainly did. The museum is small but it's free, the train rides are on specific dates only and children under five are free. Prices for the train are very reasonable as is the food in the cafe. We've been several times and will certainly be back in the future. This museum is only possible through donations so go and support them.

Went there with partners granddaughter for the santa ride. The entertainment was stories being told , singers with various christmas songs and of course father christmas with his early presents for the children. It was a good time for children and abdults and was finished of with a mince pie
