Grand day out. Large, free car park plus free entry to the museum; £6 for a train ticket enabling you to ride all day.nVery friendly volunteers, clean, accessible toilet provision and a warm, comfortable little cafe selling snacks tea, coffee, pies, cakes etc at very reasonable prices.nWell worth visiting and good value for money.
Came here on a heritage open day but normally £10/£8 for a 40 min train ride to Percy Main and back. A little girl was asking for it to go faster but nope it definitely just chugs along! Interesting museum with a café and some stalls
Booked on the train kids had a great time. Museum is free and lots of friendly staff, also boys enjoyed colouring in. Spend around an hour there.
Absolute paradise of railway history. You can see the oldest steam engine of Britain .this is maintained by passionate people who volunteered themselves to reserve this heritage .Absolute quality time can be spent. Pets are not allowed with museum but they can have train ride. If you are fortunate then you can ride steam engine, otherwise replete yourself with diesel engine train ride. You will get feel of 1860...rest room and ample parking space available. They do have event on Christmas so just call them to know the exact date. If you love my comment please don't forget to like it...
A great little heritage railway, the volunteers onsite are brilliant in general. But during the festive events they really make it a fantastic place to visit
