I was very satisfied with Andrews from beginning to end when it came to buying the flat. In particular, Emma's extra assistance and support were very helpful. Despite the fact that I was under a lot of stress, she did whatever she could to ease it. My process was closely monitored by her. It is impossible for me to express how grateful I am for their professional help and assistance. With their support, they helped me become a flat owner. I would recommend them to anyone looking to buy a home!

Really impressed with the Andrews team, who are so friendly, helpful and proactive if you are looking to buy. Particularly Daniel, who I can't rate highly enough. He works really hard to help you find the right property, comes armed with as much information as possible to answer all your questions, and gives the impression that nothing is too much trouble.
From reading these reviews it seems that Andrews are great with communication if you are buying a house and not so much if you are renting a property read: they are great when they want your money but completely useless when they already have it. Please be wary if you are renting a property off of them. Although with the current rental market you may not have a choice. They know this so can basically do what they like because you are desperate for somewhere to live. We have had two rental properties from Andrews during our time in Bristol and each time we had an issue in either property it has taken them a ridiculous amount of time to sort. Some issues were just ignored. They then try and take as much of your deposit as possible at the end of your tenancy for relatively minor issues compared to the ones you complain about which get ignored. In our first property the bathroom began accumulating black mould after a few months. It was clear there was a reoccurring damp issue which gets painted over in-between tenants rather than installing a proper ventilation system. No amount of damp traps or scrubbing could stop the mould. This was communicated and ignored. In this property our washing machine was broken for nearly 2 months the property was advertised with white goods. In this time we contacted Andrews weekly and nothing was done. In the end we had to threaten to stop paying the rent until it was resolved. Miraculously a plumber arrived in a few days. The plumber mentioned issues with the pipes that needed to all be replaced he mentioned the words “a spectacular bodge job”. I doubt this has been fixed a few years on. In our second property we struggled with damp in the kitchen more damp that has just been painted over… seems like a pattern is occurring. Again contacted Andrews and they said they were sending round a damp specialist. A few people visited the property but then there was no communication from Andrews after this to offer any resolution for the damp. At one point they failed to warn us a damp specialist was visiting and a man with keys to the property appeared in the house when my partner who works nights was sleeping. Imagine his surprise. Finally in this property a crack started to appear in the wall of the downstairs room. This was communicated to Andrews and someone was sent round to look at it. Over the next few months more and more plaster fell off the wall leaving a giant hole. No communication over whether something was being down to fix this despite emailing then with pictures of the hole in the wall. Now after moving out they are trying to keep an extortionate amount of our deposit for relatively minor issues with the property. Awaiting a response from them to resolve these issues with the second property. Edit: no response after 4 days - classic Andrews communication there
My friends and I had rented out a property through St Andrews letting which was fine for the majority of the time spent there up until we reached the end of our tenancy. When we tried to claim back our deposit after 10 days a member of St Andrews letting team called Joseph Fairman and told us that the landlord was still deliberating over our deposit and that he would get back to us once he had responded. We contacted the landlord and he told us that he was satisfied with the way we had left the house and that he had no issues with us claiming our deposit back. After looking into the issue it appears as though the letting agency has tried to claim that we left the house in an unsatisfactory state and that they were the ones withholding the deposit as they wanted to attempt to claim some of our deposit to cover the cost of a cleaner despite the fact we had already hired a professional cleaner. Extremely unsatisfied with how these events have ended.
When looking for student accommodation for my MSc Andrews estate agency were diabolical. When I first called the Agency they said they did not let out to students however when one of my friends were able to get through to them they did in fact give us a viewing for a property knowing we were students. We travelled to Bristol for this viewing only for the estate agents to say that we could not access the property and cancelled the viewing only once we arrived, something they could have informed us before we set off on our 2h journey. When we did get a viewing a couple of weeks later they said the property would be fully furnished, however, on the phone call finalising the contract they dropped it in that the property would not be furnished when I dispute this matter they said they’ll just give the property to someone else and that I had less then a hour to confirm this new contract I was not originally sold. When we were given the keys they provided us with a wrong set and we could not enter the property. Once we were able to enter the property a number of crucial repairs needed to be made such as light switches and patio doors not locking, also much of the damage done within the property was not mention in the contract. When the repair man came round, he was rude and left all doors open for anyone to walk in. A couple months into the contract personal issue arose and I needed to leave to move back home, I asked the estate agent if this could be possible and that I would cover all cost and find a replacement tenant but after 4 months of back-and-forth emails and calls they would not entertain it. However it was always in their capabilities to remove me from the contract when it suited them. At the end of the tenancy they wanted use to leave sooner and get new tenants in, they were more than happy to adapt an “unbreakable contract”. All I can say is they acted spiteful and vindictive to me, I felt abused by their unnecessary unsympathetic treatment of me, and I would never recommend a friend to them after how they’ve impacted my life. I understand students do not have much choice with renting in Bristol but that does not mean estate agencies should exploit them.
