The staff and the environment were nice but the food was appalling. I ordered a chicken salad at a normal price of £11.95, not especially cheap. Couldn’t believe my eyes when it finally arrived. The portion of the salad was unbelievably small, with only a few leaves of rockets. This portion of vegetables is less than a side dish. Are vegetables that expensive? Why can't they serve a decent size of food to customers? Talking about the chicken, the meat was so dry and stringy that I had to stop after a few bites. My husband’s fish and chips was not much better. The batter was very oily and he said that’s the worst he’d ever eaten in Canterbury. When such quality of food is served, plus very slow service, no wonder there are barely any other customers even at lunch hours.
I haven’t been here in years due to the old covid, but popped in for lunch before picking the kids up from school. Boy, am I glad I did! I had the guacamole with tortilla chips to start and the grilled cheese lunch burrito. Both very fresh and utterly scrum-diddly-umptious! Highly recommend for lunch or dinner. I’ll be back…
Got the seafood risotto and it was quite bland but edible nevertheless. The salt and pepper squid changed and it’s basically calimari now. Loved the loaded fries. Would definitely get it again. The staff was extremely friendly which really made the experience. Food came out efficiently.
Lovely time spent in the beer garden. Staff were friendly and the pub had a great atmosphere. Delicious beer too!
It is a lovely old pub with friendly staff, and good food. It is also dog friendly, hence why it deserves a higher rating. The only reason why I rated it a 4 rather than 5 is due to, two criticisms, it's food menu could be more varied, and there was no non-dairy milk option for tea and coffee.
We stopped for lunch with our daughter at Ye Olde Beverlie and it was an ok experience. The sharing plate of nacho's was very nice as were the calamari, however, my burger was a little bland. The staff were friendly and helpful. The pub is dog friendly.
A pub with a super good vibe going on. The music is never loud and always seems to have a good tune playing. It's very clean as can be, as far as pubs go and the staff are all smiles, helpful and attentive. The best thing about this pub will have to be the chiefs and the food they turn out. Honestly, the food is top class. Even a classic pub burger tastes like it's out of an very good restaurant. They've never failed to impress me with the food every time I've gone there. It's also child friendly and has a good quiet eating area for families if you don't want to eat in the main pub section. It has a large and nice outside garden that looks to be a great spot for summers. Even if you only visiting Canterbury for a weekend, Ye Olde Beverlie is a must stop by venue.
Very nicely done. The staff were friendly and the food was good and reasonably priced. Everything clean. Service was spot-on. Well done.
Such a lovely local pub with a great atmosphere. The staff are super friendly and the food is delicious - especially the fajitas. It’s also really dog friendly so I can bring my little pup and there are always treats for her - a great touch.
We went to the olde Beverlie today for a family get together and had the Christmas menu. We all loved it and the food was great. Would definitely recommend The pub and the waitress was really great.
